Yesterday Violet had "lost" her pins, and come nighttime she was isolated from the rest of the herd. We checked her at 12:45 and she was in labor with hooves presenting! At around 1:30am she delivered a small, but healthy bull calf. :)

She is doing good! Due today, but hasn't really showed any signs that labor will be very soon. She is looking very big and uncomfortable. I hope she calves sooner rather than later for her sake (and mine)! Lol

That's great!! Glad it went well! Do you have pics posted somewhere? :)

Glad to hear the update! Hopefully Pitita won't keep you waiting long. :)

On Tuesday Pitita gave birth to a beautiful little bull calf! It was really hard - he was a true breech.

Her water broke around 11 am; after a few hours of labor and her pushing, I tried to find out what was causing the delay, but I couldn't get hooves out. We got the vet and he got the calf out at around 4 pm. :)

But the calf is unable to stand. He tries getting up but his front legs aren't working right. I'm milking the cow and bottle feeding/tube feeding him. I don't have any pics up yet, but I'll let you know when I do. ;)

We are very thankful that both are alive, even if he doesn't make it.

How are you and yours?
