For my goats I found woven field fence to work really well. Its heavy gaged and flexible enough for uneven ground. They sell it at TSC. They call it Goat fence.
You might want to try to put their cages together first for a while. Let them get used to each other first. Then try to give them supervised visitation.
I'm also crossing NZW and Cali. I just built them new boxes. 8 1/2"wide, 14" long, 4" tall in the front and 9" tall in the back. I'm not sure what size they "should be"? But I looked at my rabbits size and built them to what I thought would work best.
If it was me, I wouldn't get the NZW x Flemish cross. Stick with the NZs. You ll get more bang for your buck with NZ breed. Flemish grow big but they are big boned as apposed to the smaller bones of a NZ.
I've had New Zealand's for some time now. Their awesome rabbits, but I have been wanting to cross them with a Californian to see what all the fuss is about. I finally got my hands on a beautiful Californian doe. Shes huge and super sweet!
I breed her to my New Zealand buck last night. I'm going...
Its fair season in the north east! This weekend the family and I are heading to the Brooklyn fair. I'm hoping to find time for the Woodstock, Durham and the Big E. My kids and I love the games, rides and going threw the barns checking out all the livestock.
I hope to some of you guys there!
