Howdy,
I heard you can sprout grain and feee it to pigs.
Thinking of getting pigs for meat.
If sprouted till 6" tall or so, how much would the pig eat?
I currently sprout barley in smallish white dish tubs from dollar tree (number 5 plastic if you wanna know)
So would a pig eat 2 of thesw...
Thank you,
Sounds like ferrier and feed is the main thing, and it will be mostly hay and a little bit of pellets.
My truck is a 4.8l v8 so i assume i can pull a little pony trailer. I'll buy a trailer soon.
I wonder how much hay it would eat, i just asume a square bail a day. If it starts...
Howdy,
I want to get my kid a pony. There's tons of stuff to know so I want to take this one step at a time.
First thing I want to understand
Costs
What costs are there? Feed and medical and such. Not so much the one time costs but upkeep.
We may be able to raise a little hay and we won't...
Thanks, maybe i can mow when they aren't active?
We are kinda active all over this place except out in the field or the little field. Maybe I'll have to put them there but not sure cause maybe we'll have animals in there some day.
Decisions decisions
I mostly just want good farm type...
Thank you that helps. I'll skip the breeding. Try and get a young steer to finish. One thing is it seems like I'd have to have more than one since they are heard animals.
If i broke even or saved a little vs the store I'd be happy. It's $5 a lb of ground beef atm if the shelf aint empty. Bet...
Just those two fields. Would love to raise some beef with my family like our families before us.
Basically moab area with water rights. (Actually, close to Montrose CO) Usually it's sunny and warm all year. Gets pretty hot in the summer
Just got chickens and not sure what we'll do next, should we get bees?
I don't need a tetanus shot everytime I'm stung right? My kid wants bees but i dont want her getting stung all the time. She did get stung by a wasp and was a real trooper
Wanna farm something but might not have enough...
