frozen stinks
I used to have a sledge near my troughs. then I went automated waterers for all. expensive but worth every penny
let me know how this works. very interesting for sure
yup I never realized how horrible goats/sheep and more could be
all about 'the herd' and pecking order
when we pull from herd we eliminate and one comes higher in order. we introduce back and and wham the horror starts
seen it a bunch. That is one reason I kidded out my goats fast and threw...
sure they can get over it
some horses need a small shot of ace or same for shoeing. I did it a few times on a horse I bought but sold because it wasn't the horse for me, but a baby tranq. never hurt anyone and made it safe and more for everyone/critter involved.
but my best riding horse was...
yea I am that old fashioned type of situation also.
one thing hubby has 0 and I mean 0 control over is my love of horses. When we met and later married he raised Spotted Saddle Horses and rode alot. I had my horses. Slowly he gave it up and we stopped selling. Got out of it. I never lost...
you have to 'read horse'
what did the trainer have to say about the behavior?
most times a bad horse is a work of human ownership.
So it is hard. kinda darned if you do and darned if you don't. especially when you have standing next the offender a perfect horse you trust.
good chance the...
a good way to convince a hubby is saying ' it will take no time from you, and you will always have dinner on the table and you don't have to do a thing, this is all me' :lau :gig
they love to hear that.
call and ask "what is the job?"
if you are a milker help then you have weird hours. cows are milked VERY early am and later that evening mostly. So will it fit your schedule.
if you are general barn help, heck anyone can do that. Can you drive a tractor, bobcat and more?
you must know the...
is a marinading a good thing. to help the cooking process?
goat was hard for me to learn to cook but if I went by my game recipes for deer I kinda figured it out.
sounds good to me. I will 'try' to search it out in my area and eat. I love trying new things.
takes time. nature says when
if she is turning, sunken, and looking it in is play.
best you can do is leave her alone. I found when I left it was all fine but be around in case  hard yea.
You see this it is any minute or 1/2 hr depending on her but labor and birth is happening now.
If she delivers then a big string of gunk hangs and you eventually see another bubble, another kid is coming.
if goats hit your fancy, you want a small herd and truly enjoy the hands on etc. yea that is your hobby
hey you might get into showing some and make big bucks on those show animals! :)
just put the expense up front for CL certified free goats and go from there!
Tell your hubby your NEW hobby is goats.
that should do it for you.
I understand CL but I had it in the herd. While we certainly want to get rid of it, it wouldn't be a reason I would let go of my goats.
But obviously everyone is different on how they handle this.
Oh just realized it...
thanks.
never experienced it in all my horse years.
it was the most horrible thing. Great horse but only surgery would save. man I tell ya that is a hard call. especially on a 21 yr old horse.
I had colic in my time and other problems with horses, but that gut thing comes fast, no prep, no...
On all road trips I survey the scene. From critters in pastures to barns.
I always say to hubby-----I would love to ramble around in that old barn. Older barns hold so much cool stuff.
I search for barns lol and then I see the massive beautiful horse barns, or chicken houses etc. and...
I am you with one kiddo.
WHY do they think you need a hobby?
and DO you want a hobby?
for me it is horses. I ride. All the time. And lately since my last horse passed from twisted gut about a year ago my hobby stopped.
Horses are my thing.
but if you want one, what do you like or want...
