Texas Fencing Laws - Ownership Between Neighbors?

Thanks for the info. I figured if it's within the property line the fence would be mine. I definitely want to survey the property before building. I'll keep doing my homework as well. So stressful.. 🙂

Texas Fencing Laws - Ownership Between Neighbors?

Hi, anyone in Texas know about laws regarding disputes between neighbors and fencing? I have not been able to find anything online. I'd like to rebuild my fence on my property line after getting a survey done. Would the fence (after being built by me, and using my own funds) be considered mine...

    Corner Posts Bracing Wire

Hi, guys... Need your expertise: I have a corner post with an H on each side. Can I do an X with wire on each H brace to make the corner post stable? To add, a gate will be next to the corner post (but not hanging on it - there will be an enclosure on the other side of fence). I'd like to make...

    H-Brace Wiring Question

Thank you so much!!! I will definitely, do the "X" as there will be a 4ft. gate to hang. I'm so glad you guys responded. I like doing things right! :) I have not done fencing in a while and had my doubts. Thanks again, and for for the images.

    H-Brace Wiring Question

Yes, greybeard! It's a straight line fence, H at each end... I do not have the H's like your picture. Both H's were installed the same like my image posted. Should I fix it before stretching wire? Or, will it be OK if I leave it the way it is? Thanks!!!

    H-Brace Wiring Question

I recently spread wood posts to 160 ft. and finished building my H-Braces. When I wired both sets of braces, I ended up installing the diagonal wire towards same direction (left post, wire at bottom - right post, wire on top). will this hurt my fence over time? Is there a need for the diagonal...

    Ram Problems...

Two things could help you: 1) spray his face with some vinegar water when he tries to charge. 2) tie a wood block to one of his legs to slow him down. I've read they are both good for misbehaving rams.

    Field Fence Brace Posts

Hey "Latestarter!" Yes, correct; there will be posts in between the fence line (I failed to mention it). I also plan to add some Quikcrete for each brace post. Thanks for your response. :)

    Field Fence Brace Posts

First, it has been a while since I've been here. Great to be back. Now with my question. I have approx. 360 ft. of field fence that I need to install (straight line). I was thinking of laying out the brace posts with the following: 3 brace posts - point A; 2 brace posts at 150 ft. (in between)...

Would you ever eat a horse?

Very true. It's our society that frowns upon eating horses. They are always looked at as pets. I agree that something should be done. Better yet, feed many people that are starving!

Would you ever eat a horse?

I would. Especially if food was scarce. I think it's also a good idea to consider eating. There are many horses that need homes, and have a hard time finding one.

Which Sheep breed is short but have lots of meat?

Thanks for the info sheepgirl. Yes, was inquiring about the white ram. My thing is the wool. It's hard to find someone to shear the sheep. His wool does not seem all that thick though.

Nice sheep guys! Sheepgirl your ram is nice! Is he tame? How's the temperament?

Which Sheep breed is short but have lots of meat?

I've decided to sell my mini-herd of large sheep, and would like a smaller breed of meat sheep. I live in Texas so non-shearing would be ideal. Any ideas on which breed will work for me? Btw, I like polled sheep, so Barbado is out. :) Thanks guys.

Ram Butting Thread - Share Techniques to Prevent...

Very good tips guys! I've been thinking of getting a good herding dog with power to bring down a ram if needed. What do you guys think of a catahoula? They make good hog dogs... I wonder about sheep.

Ram Butting Thread - Share Techniques to Prevent...

My ram is 2.5 years old. I tend to stay away regardless, and go to pasture when need. Also, I take my dog with me. Safety first!
