My oldest is twelve she a sweet heart, she going through hormones which sucks but part of life. Then we have a 9 year old boy he my class clown, a 7 year old aka my drama lama lol he very over the top some times, my 5 year old who thinks she in charge, the 3 year old who likes to push all boundaries, and my one year old who almost two she figuring out she can get into lots of things. Including climbing on counters, she got a hold of a knife day before yesterday and cut her little thumb the knife have since been moved and I am going to have to keep a closer eye on her. Her older brother (3yr) has on repeat beaten me at hiding meds. and is constantly doing naughty lol that boy keeps me on my toes just trying to keep him alive. He can be very sweet but he also extremely stubborn the other night he refused to kiss me good night for a very long time because I hurt his feelings... I am not even sure how lol. I know the night before its because I forced him to bathe and that's a capital crime in his mind. My husband bathed him one night and my son decided it meant his daddy no longer loved him.....the kid has all kinds of bath toys, bubbles, color changing water things bath paint, even shaving cream and paint brushes but the moment soap comes out you hate him lol he a little dramatic doesn't mater how nice or gentle you wash him he gets angry. Thankfully he will grow out of it. They all have their little quarks.
At 2 my son climbed up on the kitchen counter and got the children's Tylenol that I had in the cupboard above the sink...fortunately the bottles are designed to hold an amount that won't damage their kidneys if they ingest it all, or so I was told by the ER Dr.

Okay so thinking out loud here I have two options option a I allow my oldest to continue with Rod and staff now they only have grades 1-10 year 10 and 9 share the same math. Which is financial, budgeting banking ect. 8th grade has algebra and ect. Or I can switch her to a different curriculum that goes to 12th. Now as soon as she finishes rod and staff 9th grade I would be enrolling her in college courses. Rod and staff tends to be several grade ahead of other courses I have looked at. Now college will be I think one or two classes each semester until she is older. She will be learning other things just more science work and history in books then home eco., Foreign language, all of which she currently does as well. To put it into perspective math she would be in 9th grade in public school already and english is about the same she also has a 10-11th grade reading level if not higher..... Reads and understands books like Harry Potter in two days or less. She had finished most of the libraries books that is close to us. She read alot of the young adult section and wants to move to the adult section but obviously not age appropriate as she is only 12. She checks out 20books every week and before the week is over she read most of them twice. The thing about college courses is she not even sure about what she wants to do or if she wants to go to college. So my thought is basic english and math courses to allow for further learning and that would work for a broad range of things if she wants to continue it later on. Or we switch to a slower moving curriculum and basically hold her back some...They do have a high school curriculium I just found out its video interactive i guess that solves my issues lol

Don't switch to a slower curriculum. Go ahead and enroll her in the college courses as appropriate. First level college courses are all basic stuff and not really tailored to any specific path she may be interesting in. They can give her an idea of what is out there. When our son went to high school we checked out the high school he was supposed to go to and were appalled that the school's goal would be as kids finished high school they would be able to (are you sitting down??) balance a checkbook. And this was in a good school district. Sad that the school thrived on mediocrity. We opted for a charter school where they believed education was their business. Most of the teachers there were retired: business men, doctors and military. They also encouraged their students to take courses at the local college.
Encourage excellence, not mediocrity.
And a full on college degree is not always the right choice. LOL just ask Mike Rowe - the Dirty Jobs guy.

lol yah she just constantly between what she wants to do. she alot like me more of a jack of all trades. Lol she already knows to some degree how to run a budget. from time to time she given x amount of pretend money and she gets to go online and do a mock shopping trip at the grocery store and has to make x amount of meals.

I found some geometry classes, Algebra 1-2, calculus and trigonometry classes I will be having her complete for 10-12th grade as well. Will probably have her still do college courses as well. She tends to accomplish her school work fairly quickly each day3-4hrs.

My oldest granddaughter graduated high school at 16 with over 30 college credits. She was in public school. She took summer school college classes and double credit classes. She went to college in San Marcos and will graduate at 18 in 2026.

I think you are on the right track. She is 12. She doesn’t even know what a career is, much less what she wants to do. She loves to read, what about encouraging her to write stories for other children?
