Upon further inspection there were no deformities. It was dark and the angle the leg was at made it look like there was. Lack of sleep probably didn't help. Such a shame to make it so close and then loose them.
Now I feel absolutely awful knowing that there was nothing wrong with them. If I had gotten up an hour before she might not have lost her babies.

We had our first losses New Year's morning. Similar scenario; twins, dystocia. Lost the kids but the dam is ok. We were with the doe through the entire labor and still didn't manage to save them. It's a difficult thing but Roll is right- sometimes it just happens.
