I was wondering if there are any breeders of this breed in my area (Alsea, Philomath, Corvallis, Salem, Portland, Springfield Oregon).

I have a very nice ram lamb that I sure would like to trade for a ram lamb not related to mine.

Give me a pm if you do or know someone who does.

Thank you
Do you still have your herd? We're in Gaston and we have American Blackbellies. We just lambed our first baby about an hour ago! I'm actually looking up on the afterbirth info. We think she's a little ewe.

And blackbelly... is AMAZINGLY tasty! We slaughtered our wethers for Easter and they were just at a year and oh man... we are HOOKED! It's like steak! They are very flighty, but you just take that into consideration if you have them as pets.

That's great! We're considering having 2 herds now rotating out from one into the other so we need to find someone with American Blackbellies that are NOT from our herd bloodlines. Where did you get your sheep from? Would you be interested in selling the ewe, maybe we can do a trade? haha! Your ewe for our ewe! :D

Our ram is also quite impressive. If you are looking at breeding he is a great ram- and actually, he rammed his way in with the ewe and her lamb last night through the barrier gate! We found him in there this morning being a great doting dad but... certainly not allowed in the maternity ward. Fixed that gate fast too haha!

If I had the space I would have a couple Blackbelly sheep. They are the most beautiful animals I have ever met. There was one at the sale barn last week. NO one wanted to buy her because they had no idea what she was. She was gorgeous. I was SOOOOOO tempted. But I raise goats.
