Internet  :clap

Roosters: May have thicker, more pronounced legs and feet than hens.
Wing Feathers:
Roosters: Often have shorter, more rounded wing feathers compared to the longer, more pointed wing feathers of hens

plus hens seem to start tail feather at a wk or 2...before roos. Seems strange given the plumage of a roo.

I also did a little internet searching... and it says that most all feather sexing can be done from day old... UP TO 3 days old... several sites said that... and these chicks I got are at least 1+ weeks old since they got new ones in again... sooooooo.... it will remain to be seen. I do see the difference in the wing feathers as they are actually barely "quills" at 1-2 days old...

All 3 of these seem to have the same long, pointed wind tips. 2 have little shoulder pad looking feathers too.

I tried to snag one for a pict & broody mama left several bloody pecks & scratches on my arm......
Need to somehow mark these to see if the "feather sexing" is right when they get bigger... I sure hope he was right on mine... I DO NOT want roosters....

sure hope I don't wind up with all roosters from his feather sexing...
We'll know when they crow! hope they're hens! Otherwise rooster stew works but, such a wait & mess to get there.

I wanted to check the 4 I have scooting around with mom. But she's a Ninja mom! Attack she will. If I wait until night, with long sleeves I can get one at a time. But not that important :idunno they are what they are. Before long the combs will tell me.

But I do have this incubator going, and I'm the mom! 😵‍💫 So we'll see how that goes. 6/7 hatch. I like the color hatch ones. One of the 4 chicks is a cream legbar pullet by color. 😁
