Anyone ever had lip piercings? What do you think of them?

So I'm definitely going to get one, but I was just curious about y'all's thoughts, and I was also wondering if anyone has seriously regretted getting their lip pierced.

The one I've decided on is the vertical labret (pictured in the random internet photo below, not mine) since I think it's cute and it's also not supposed to damage gums or teeth.

Also the scarring doesn't look like it'll be glaringly obvious

I'm aware it may affect job opportunities but I'm not the type to keep piercings over a good job, and I'm also far more likely to work independently or in fields where "self expression" is more common.
Just curious what the farm folks think

We ear tag our sheep. Lip tags would make it difficult for them to eat. Sometimes they get the tags caught and they tear out.

I was restraining a lab at the vet for a Heartworm check & the top of his head put my front 2 teeth through my bottom lip.... does that count?

Everytime I see someone with the nose piercing I think of the bulls we use nose rings in for control since their nose tissue is SUPER SENSITIVE. Controlling a 1500-2000 lb bull is critical for safety if they are being used in close proximity to humans... semen collection of bulls in bull studs and bulls that are shown in purebred shows. That is where the comparison to leading someone around by their nose came from...which is a derogative connotation... same as "hen pecked"....
I cannot imagine how uncomfortable a lip piercing would be...for eating food.... or how awkward kissing someone would be ....

Yeah I'm personally not a fan of the nose ring trend. Don't like em on most people and I already don't like my nose so I'd never draw attention to it. Also apparently they stink which is a MASSIVE turn off, it's called "septum stink/funk".

Ok I’ll throw in my opinion for whatever it is worth. Facial piercings are not attractive. I’m sure your face is beautiful as it is, why mangle it with metal? Get a belly button piercing instead. Get multiple piercings on your ears and decorate to your hearts desire. Bits of metal stuck in your face don’t help your looks, they detract from the beauty you already have.

If you are set on a lip piercing, go for it, it’s your face, your decision. I’ll respect it either way. No facial piercing and artfully applied makeup sure makes a prettier picture.

My Granddaughter got a tiny thin nostril ring. I hope she doesn't go any further.
