The star of The Last Rodeo, Neal McDonough, has typically played bad guys. The reason is because he refused to play parts with love scenes because he refused to kiss another woman that wasn’t his wife. The woman playing his deceased wife in the movie is in fact, his real wife. How did someone with morals come out of Hollywood?

We went to the zoo yesterday. It’s breeding season for the peacocks and the males were showing off for the hens. They run loose at the zoo and put on quite a show.

Granddaughter #2 wanted pictures sent to her art teacher, so I took more pictures, including close up of their tail feathers.

We found a newly hatched turtle.

We rode the train around the zoo and across the lake. We saw a wild alligator in the lake. No swimming!!

This morning I take them to my sisters house to meet my daughter and oldest granddaughter. Oldest is leaving for Italy June 9, 2 days after she turns 18. She will spend 2 months with a family, babysitting their 3 kids. All expenses paid, plus 450 euros per month. She is so excited. I didn’t know this was a thing, but people in other countries hire college students for the summer for babysitting. One of her friends is in Australia as a babysitter. It’s going to be fun for her.

When I bought this place, there were 2 ceiling fans in the house. I bought new ones for the whole house and tossed the old ones. But I saved the fan blades for future crafts. Middle granddaughter wanted them and I gave them to her. She takes art lessons and wants to be an artist. She gave me a present for Mother’s Day and my birthday. I immediately recognized who it was and exclaimed, “You painted Frimplepants!

Aww, do your granddaughters like studio Ghibli? My middle son is a fan. He could talk their ears off about the movies and music.

Looks like y'all had your usual fun filled adventures! Enjoy while you can, they grow up! Yep, I learned about the nanny jobs recently, also. Can be an adventure. Italy is lovely.

Our middle daughter did that her first two summers out of high school. DH works for Lilly and has lots of co workers in other countries who he has gotten to know pretty well over the years. One of them from Madrid mentioned looking for an English speaking au pair and DH suggested DD. They loved her and had her back for the second summer, and then the third and fourth summers they sent their older daughter (about 12 at the time) to us for a month or so. This was more than 15 years ago. DD is still friends with them and has visited them a couple of times.

Wonderful opportunity for your granddaughter!

Loaded up 13 lambs last night. Left at 4:30 AM, sitting in cafe at Emory Livestock Auction. Guzzling coffee!

@Baymule You can lift a house on slab foundation by lifting the slab or separating the house from the slab. The biggest issue would be permitting and benefit to home value offsetting cost.
