My washing machine started working again! I don't know why, but I'll take it. So I washed 2 loads and hung them out, nice and sunny. I went to the Ladies lunch yesterday and when I left, it started pouring rain. It rained on me all the way to Apple Springs, 9 miles from home. I got to the church, jumped in the mule and floored it for home. I took clothes in, it was starting to sprinkle and the bottom fell out. I caught a brief clear spot before the next deluge, so I ran out, fed dogs and sheep. I had on a CLEAN T-shirt, well that didn't last long. Patches thought I must have feed in an empty bucket and tried climbing up my back to get it. Muddy ewe prints on my shirt.

Today is the Blueberry Festival in Nacogdoches, normally this time of year it's scorching hot and dry. Today more storms and downpours are expected and tomorrow too. And it's scorching hot. I think I'll go. What the heck, I'm used to being rained on.

LA is the official abbreviation for Louisiana... Like CT of Connecticut... TX for Texas... so I get their using LA... Just that LA has been associated with CA for so long...
That’s what I was going to say! To avoid confusion, there should be periods in the Los Angeles abbreviation. (L.A.) But no one’s going to do that. Too hard to type.

And for those of us who live close to Lost Angels (appropriate now) it's the first thing that comes to mind.

The Blueberry festival was no big deal. Just lots of carnival and fair type food vendors. Lots of craft vendors, nothing i wanted or needed.
Sunday I brought my car home. To celebrate, it rained. I think it might have been a quarter inch, but gheesh! It seems like it will never stop. Of course when it does stop, it really will stop and then we'll be crying for rain.

True, you hate to complain about rain... BUT.... a little moderation would sure go a LOOOONNNGGG way to making things much more workable.
We are also getting WAY more rain than is typical... had an inch the first weekend of June, over 2 inches the last 2 days... raining/showers last night and more forecast for the next several days. I am afraid that when the spigot gets turned off it is going to really dry up... This after an extremely over wet and chillier May... and very dry and hotter than normal before that in April....
Can't change or control it so gotta work with/around it.

Cant cut hay when it rains every day.
New want to move in neighbors can't get their modular home delivered until it dries up, road gets graded and their driveway gets repaired.
I look at the grass glistening with wet dew and wonder just how far up the grass blades worm larva can go in extreme wetness like this?
