I’ve been watching Reels on FB, the Cajun Navy updates several times a day, it’s better and more informative than the news media.
Heart wrenching too.

Finishing my coffee, gonna get dressed and go sort sheep.

Oh, yesterday Teresa (Mike CHS) called when I was halfway through with evening chores. I sat in the shade to talk with her, thanks for that call, I was HOT and DRENCHED. I finished up, only had to water. I carried water to a pen of ewe lambs that I weaned and found 2 idiot ewes, BOTH had their heads stuck through ONE 6” square in a cow panel, trying to get to the pan of feed in the weaned lambs pen. I tried to pull one out. Do y’all know that when you try to untangle stupidity, it only makes them push in HARDER? Nothing I did was working. Panic set in.

Y’all have to realize that by this time, I was utterly exhausted, sweat drenched for the hundredth time and I just broke in half like a bucking wild horse on those two damned stupid sheep. I took a 5 gallon bucket and commenced to lambasting their heads, screeching all kinds of obscenities at them, just having an utter and complete meltdown. Well guess what? They jerked their stupidass heads out. I should’ve done that FIRST.

It's not just lambs -- baby goats! And mine have horns.🤨 So wiggle, wiggle. Some have figured it out and expertly lift chin, pressing horns into neck & slide out. Others -- cuss and cuss, as you manipulate thru the release. I've had 2, not in same hole tho😣 just side by side.

I’m doing laundry and cleaning house. I really would rather be outside.

Gonna be 92 today and it’s 90% humidity. I slept late and have no ambition. Going to a meeting of Texas Grazing Land Coalition this evening, 1 1/2 hours away. I’m taking 2 lemon chess pies. Starts at 6-9:30. A pot luck supper, a documentary on soil improvements and I’ll be home before midnight. Whew! I’ll just make it back home before my little car turns into a pumpkin!

I need my second cup of coffee and a kick in the butt to get me going.

Lemon chess pies?
I had to look it up looks more than yummy
Lemon chess pie is a Southern dessert known for its smooth, buttery filling made with fresh lemon juice, sugar, eggs, and a thickening agent like cornmeal. It has a bright, tangy flavor and is often served chilled or at room temperature, making it a favorite among lemon lovers. southernliving.com
