Yikes - I started reading it, thinking oh yeah - I've got those scaly spots as well. Thinking oh maybe I should ask for that compound, read more and then thought - "um nope not going to ask about or for it", my dermatologist freezes those spots with liquid nitrogen - causes a blister, but once that heals it's gone.

That's what they did for my husband, but at some point they had to do more extreme treatments. Hope it continues to work well for you. 💗

I wonder if a cattle prod would work on sheep. Has anyone tried one??

We use a cattle prod ONLY in an extreme emergency. It makes the animals much less enthusiastic to go through the chute and they lunge to get through quickly thinking they are going to get shocked. Bad Idea
Cattle prods are best used on teenagers!

DH has spent the past 6 weeks having multiple skin cancers removed - both by MOHS and cutting out others. One MOHS cancer removal was huge requiring lots of stitches in a bad area on the back between his shoulders. Small cancer spots that are just starting have been sprayed with liquid nitrogen. Last one to be removed next Friday and current stitches out then too. Most are basal cell, all are non-malignant if caught early enough. Have to drive to Greenville to the VA. Hopefully this will be the last one for a while.
USE SUNSCREEN!

MOHS is what they did on his ear.
Hope your husband doesn't have to go back for a long while!

My DH has used that cream. Flouracil or something. He's also had the inhouse treatment with the cream and a blue light. Its a very painful nightmare for about 4 days and then it starts to heal. Three weeks later he has new skin and no more actinic somethings. He's about two years over due and looks all inflamed and crusty. That and MOHs. His face a a mess. Came from all the years of surfing he did.

This treatment is supposed to eliminate the scaley places before they pop out. I have red blotches so I guess it’s working.

I have a couple of scaley places on my face. Not surprising. I’ve spent my whole lifetime outside. Not lounging around a pool, naw, I got better things to do like any activity that might hurt, maim or kill.
So I went to the dermatologist, a nice lady who examined my face with a little blue light. She told me, “you have a lot of these under the skin.”
She prescribed a compound that I was to rub on my face twice a day, for four days, which I have done. Now my face is in fire! Make that FAHR! I want to freeze my head in a block of ice with nose holes for breathing. Breathing is sorta kinda halfway important to me. I am quite fond of breathing.

She told me to wear a hat and stay out of the sun. I’m not a vampire and most all my activities require light. I bought a wide brim straw hat. I hate it. I even bought sunglasses. The Anatolians barked and snarled up on me and took some convincing that it was really me.

My face is an angry red mess and it burns like I entertained a FAHR AINT nest! I look like I did a face plant in the campfire and ruined the weenie roast for everybody. This ain’t fun y’all. Do this imitation vampire donned the hated hat, sunglasses and long sleeved denim shirt and climbed aboard my trusty steel steed and mowed goat weed. I got a patch done, called it good and came in to cool off.
NOT funny that you're so uncomfortable! But I just love how you describe it all.
Either laugh or cry, right?

My face is getting better. I’ve slathered Vaseline on it twice a day. It relieves the itching as drying skin peels off. Plus it softens the peeling skin and I wash my face twice a day with a hot washcloth.

I’ve been taking care of a tiny, itsy bitsy, weak bottle lamb since I found him Friday morning. On day 3 now. Tired and lack of sleep, he eats every 2-3 hours and isn’t strong enough yet to go all night without feeding him. I’ve got to go get feed this morning. By the time I get back, unload and scoop it all into metal trash cans, it will be scorching hot and I’ll call it a day. I’ll do laundry, have a load of animal towels to wash.
