Yesterday my neighbors that are trying so hard to get the myriad of things done so they can move into their new home, came over. They are living in Dallas and want to get moved so bad. We had a fun visit, I can’t wait for them to move in either. Their 3 boys were restless so I suggested they go out on the front porch, but don’t get down in the yard because there is a ram, Rocky, in the yard.

Sheep scattered.

I got animal crackers and Patches decided those boys were her idea of a treat dispensing machine. Totally unafraid, she mugged for attention and animal crackers. Rocky stayed far away, two of the ewes wanted to come for treats, but weren’t brave enough to face 3 boys that were noisy and in perpetual motion. Patches got handfuls of animal crackers, the boys ate animal crackers, ewe and boys had a wonderful time.

In this picture, Dane (oldest) is holding out an animal cracker for Patches. Patches is standing on her hind legs to reach the treat. Just before she puts a lip lock on the animal cracker, Charlie (youngest) grabs it and eats it himself. We all exploded into laughter.

Those boys will remember this for the rest of their lives.

Picked up my 2 youngest granddaughters Sunday. It was raining here at 8:00AM, raining when I got out of church, POURED down rain all the way to Conroe. On interstate 45, it was raining so hard that I got in the far right lane, creeping along at 45-50 MPH. Normally I go 80-85 in the far left lane. Rain stopped for our drive home. Here on the farm, got 1 3/4” of rain. Thirsty dry ground soaked it up.

Yesterday we went to the grocery store. The girls ran wild. They giggled, laughed, had so much fun. My daughter is a fan of online shopping and pick up. They practically never go inside. So it was quite the outing for the girls. $101, we got a can of pumpkin, frozen pie shells, ice cream, coke, 1 corn on the cob, 1 sweet potato, flour tortillas, milk, cereal, hamburger and whatever they wanted. Last night we had chicken breast, corn on the cob for me and Catherine, cubed and toasted sweet potato for me and Charlotte. We played outside. We made pumpkin pie, stuck a candle in it, face timed Charlotte’s parents and sang happy birthday, she is 9.

My sister bought 2 big blow up chairs for the girls, they sent one home, brought one here. Directions said to use a bicycle pump. DO NOT use an air compressor to avoid bursting the chair. Ummmm…… this Mamaw went and got her air compressor. Duh.

I’ve been telling Sheba for a week that Catherine is coming to see her. Sheba flops down for a tummy rub and Catherine happily obliges.

Meanwhile, Cooper the ram was mugging Charlotte for attention. He loves attention of any kind and is a big teddy bear. Charlotte loves Cooper and loves giving him scratches.

Today we are making a birthday cake. We’ll light up the candle and sing happy birthday all over again.
