I went to Apple Springs last night in the truck. I dropped the tailgate and set 2 tac lights on it and a bowl of candy for the trick or treat kids. I sat in the parking lot of the Senior Citizens Center. Highway 94 runs through town, with a flashing light at each end supposedly to slow traffic down. Brave people held their childrens' hands and ran across the two lanes. Others drove their car or truck across the highway. "town" is not incorporated, just a tiny spot on the highway. Apple Springs had the above mentioned Senior Citizens Center where people can go have a nutritious and filling lunch for $7. The main cook lives just past my SIL and delivers lunch to her on her way home, usually around 1 or 2 PM. Apple Springs also boasts one of those small neighborhood grocery stores with a Subway in it, and a deli where you can always get fried chicken with sides and a roll. They have gas pumps outside, widely spaced to give room for logging trucks, working trucks, trucks with trailers, and enough concrete to drive all the way around the store. Even though Apple Springs is small enough to throw a rock from end to end, it has a Post Office with 2 employees. No town is complete without a dollar store, so we have a Family Dollar store-they gave out candy for Halloween too. The fire station is about 2 miles out of town and they also passed out candy. There is a facebook group for the area and people listed their addresses on a post there so others could find them. Trucks went by, and stopped for candy, with kids in the back of the trucks. It reminded me of when I was a kid and kids rode in the back of trucks, adults rode in the single cab up front. LOL

I am tired. Running my SIL to doctor appointments is wearing me down. PT has started and it is 3 times a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday until November. Somewhere in there, she will be able to drive and get in and out of her house on her prosthetic leg. PT will teach her how to walk in it and be confident. Tuesday I have my own appointment, a bone scan in Tyler 2 1/2 hour drive. Then the following week I go back for results. I have a long list of things I want to accomplish but haven't even got started.

I'd say don't run yourself ragged, but I know you will anyway. I hope you can find time to take care of yourself. I also hope your bone scan has nothing but good news for you. :hugs 💗

Yeah, running wide open is how I roll. I'm looking forward to the bone scan. Osteoporosis was found when I had knee replacement. The surgeon said my bones were like cutting through butter and cautioned me with, DON'T FALL DOWN OR YOU WILL BREAK SOMETHING. Just 'effing fantastic..... :he That was in September of 2022, I had a bone scan and the results were not something I wanted to hear. I refused the drugs that have horrible side effects and tried a natural treatment that did not work. The doctor sneered at me and prescribed more poison pills that I never got the prescription filled. The drugs make your bones brittle so that if you do fall and break something, it shatters. Plus you can only take them for 5 years, after that they don't work. So....... drugs that make you sick, make your bones shatter, put you in a nursing home with wrecked health and that is the best modern medicine can do? No thank you.

I am now using a stem cell patch and another patch for bones and stamina. The company says to wear the patches for 1 year for every 10 years you have been alive. I started the patches in August of 2024, so have been patched for over a year. My last bone scan was in October 2024 and I had not been patched but for a few months. I am excited to get this bone scan and can't wait for the results.

I have always been 10 feet tall and bulletproof. I hate having to think about possible injury when I'm doing something. I sold my horse because she was batsh!t crazy, after 2 years she was still nutty as a fruit cake. The last straw was when she bowed up with my foot in the stirrup, in mid mount and I went flying. Landed on the small of my back, (osteoporosis in my spine) and something fractured. I limped around a couple of weeks and decided that God was trying to send me a message. I loaded her up and took her to auction. Kinda hurts my feelings, I always tackled anything with hair and now I have to be careful. Pisses me off.

I've had kidney stones so no calcium for me. I have read that the best way to keep your bones strong is impact exercise. Don't we get enough of that with our yard/farm chores?

I was laying blocks around my garden bed yesterday, and kept getting muscle twitches. It's something new, just the last couple years, and apparently is due to muscle fatigue, and not uncommon in older individuals. I hate it, but have to stop and let my legs rest frequently. Sucks.

OK - now we're all looking forward to you bone scan. I was on their stupid meds for a few years - not good - quit them and no more side effects (numb feet, hands, etc). Doc said I could do it as a "vacation" -- said I'm not going near that stuff again. I think she understands me now.

I hope you notice good improvement from the scan. I've never heard of that treatment, so interesting. It's that through your Dr? You know, the poison prescriber...lol

My mom broke her hip. They replaced it, it started to crumble, they tried to repair it, it became infected, they removed it. She lived the last 4 years in a wheelchair. She was one of the strongest women I've ever known. She would get herself dressed. Pull herself up and make her own bed. Keep her room tidy, do her own hair. Kept going and doing as long as she could. We lost her last November at 93. I know she thought she was 10' tall too and lived like it, at the end she was I'm guessing 4' 7".

I truly hope the treatment you're doing works. It will give hope to the rest of us.

Oh, I think you're 10' tall too!💗

My endocrinologist doctor no longer works at that facility, I don’t know where I’m supposed to go. I looked on my chart, nothing. I guess I’ll find out Tuesday but they probably won’t have a clue either.
That's crazy. Hope someone can steer you in the right direction.
