One white foot, buy'em
Two white feet, try'em
Three white feet, look about'em
Four white feet, do without'em

No idea where in my childhood I learned that!
Old English quote. Richard III is supposed to have ridden a horse with 4 white feet at Bosworth when he was defeated and killed. Richard was the last Plantagenet king. Henry claimed the throne by marrying one of Edward Platanagenet's 's daughter. It has since been established tht Richard III did NOT murder the little princes in the tower. That was Henry getting rid of any possible future claimants to the throne.

He has a really pretty sweet face. I do like geldings - they remain fairly calm. Mares get PMS. LOL I will find the stirrup extender and have already found the electric tape in the shed. Will bring it when we pick up the "bride".

Glad you enjoyed the performace. She looks ike she is having a good time. Rachel looks like you.

Thanks! I've read some History of the era that did not rely on Shakespeare's fiction. Richard III would probably have been a good king, better than most. I recommend The Last Plantagenet by Thomas Costain and The Sunne in Splendour by Sharon Kay Penman. The Costain book is nonfiction, but not dry. The Penman is fiction, but mostly non, and she has a short chapter in which she divulges what fictional elements were added.

I don’t know if that’s a good thing, the royals were known for throwing fits, rolling on the floor and chewing the rushes. They married each other, I guess so as not to taint the Royal blood with outsiders. Inbreds, it was probably epilepsy, but there was no medical knowledge of it. Royals threw fits, peasants were probably considered demon possessed. Or maybe peasants didn’t intermarry and had better genetics.

My father's family (the oes I dont associate with) always bragged about their great grandfather who was supposedly the last son of the Prince of Gondolfo. He gave his palace to the pope and immigrated to the US. I don't doubt that he may have been the prince's son but I think he was probably the illegitimate son and was sent to America to get rid of him. LOL
Another ancestor on my father's Irish side was smuggled out of Ireland back in the day wrapped in a rug because he was a member of the IRA and wanted by the authorities. Again I feel that is true but more probably he was a horse thief. :gig
One reason I believe my version is true is because it came out some years ago that another relative was a high ranking member of the Irish Mafia in Dubuque in the 30's. Oh yes, and another great uncle went to prison for embezzlement. I am not popular at family gatherings, good thing I don't assocate with them. Both of my uncles and a couple cousins are attorneys which just shows that side of the family were all probably crooks!
