This morning, out in the dark what did I find?

View attachment 123884

I had to pull the T-post, then dig out the pallet, so I could free the ewe. I made it to court in time and wasn’t late!

Of course! They kinda know to do that when time isn't in full supply
Things always happen when my husband and I are away. We took a trip when our daughter was a senior in high school. 4 things happened, first the neighbors goat got it's horns stuck in our electric fence. She heard it as she was getting ready to leave for school, which was an hour drive. She was trying to help it get loose and kept getting shocked, finally got it free. The next day one of their 4h pigs got loose, as she was chasing it the sprinklers came on, yep that was before school too. The other two, the dog jumped up and hit her chin and the horse stepped on her foot. To this day she has no animals... :gig

My new neighbors found an old cistern on their property. I don't think it is very deep, but it has water in it from all the rain. It worried me, so Sunday I took 4 T-posts, a roll of wire, a T-post driver, bolt cutters and hay string so they could put up a fence around it. I came home last night and they had returned the driver and bolt cutters, left on my back porch. That made me happy that they fenced off that old cistern from their kids falling in and that they quickly returned my tools. I'm real picky about my tools, so that showed me that they respect someone else's things. I also rustled up a 4x4 for their mailbox post and they put up their new mailbox. They are so excited over every little thing, like kids with a new toy. :love

My horse needs water, my son is going to put the barrels in the back of my mule, fill them, dump and clean the tub and give him fresh water. THAT will save me a lot of work and time (in the dark). I'm very grateful for that.

You're having a tight week with "time" .... Hope the trial is a good one😁. Oh my, what we wish for!! I've always wanted to be on a jury. Couple calls & never selected. All in all, probably a good thing  Of course, the girls waited until this week to lamb & create trouble.

When it's all over, you can fill us in on the trial.

Me being the smart a$$ that I am, I've pulled funny quips out and split the group up in laughter. One lady said she liked to people watch. I told her to go to Walmart and watch the Wal-Martians. It took a moment for that to sink in..... A young man said Wal-Martians? I replied do you know a better name for them? Everybody cracked up. Then there is one bathroom with 2 toilet stalls. The men and women take turns. I came out yesterday to find another lady waiting and blurted out, I kept the seat warm for ya'.

So glad they found it before their kids did!! Luckily the old one on our property still had heavy concrete lid over top.

Awake at 3:30AM again. On my second cup of coffee, then I guess I'll get dressed, go out in the fog and dark to care for the animals. My eyes are bloodshot, I'm tired and stiff from sitting in a chair all day. We take frequent breaks and we stretch our sore muscles.

Max the horse needed water, so I asked my son if he would put the two 30 gallon barrels in the back of the mule, fill them and go fill the water tub for Max. He did, I met him coming out as I was going home, on the dirt road. His friend Keith was with him. Keith decided to get a look at the baby lambs and moms, but the Anatolians had other ideas about that. They hit the fence snarling and barking. Keith stopped in his tracks about 40 feet from the lambs and turned around. He decided that looking at the lambs was a bad idea. My son was laughing telling me about it.

I ran through chores, then went to Apple Springs for a gallon of milk. I bought one of those frozen bags of pasta with assorted vegetables and a shrimp or two, instant supper. I cooked some of it and called it good. I had a glass of wine and went to bed.

I've been outside and done chores. I put the feed for @Margali 's sheep in a gallon plastic baggie, tucked my outer shirt in my pants and stuffed the feed in that shirt. Then my Carhart jacket and the 30 vultures waiting to take me down for feed, didn't know I had it and I was able to slip in the visitor's pen and feed them. I felt Victorious.

I've had a butter and buckwheat honey sandwich of 2 bread heels. I really need to get to the store but rushing home to do chores and sleep is more important. Plus I still have more of that frozen bag of instant supper.
