The trial is over. We found the defendant guilty of Capital Murder, it took us 30 minutes. A few of the people wanted to read the transcripts of text messages between the defendant and his wife the day of the murders, they were then "for sure" in their own minds.

This was a twisted, sick, totally screwed up family dynamic. The gathering of evidence was thorough, down to strands of hair on a hairbrush and a toothbrush. There were no bodies, defendant Jacob and his wife Adeline, burned them in their front yard. They dumped ashes and dirt over 3 counties. The dummies could have dumped it in a river and there would have been nothing to test. Jacob kidnapped his mother with intent to murder her, chained her and put a ball gag in her mouth and held her in his and Adeline's "sex room" full of sadistic and masochist sex toys. He had sent Adeline and the kids to the Lufkin mall, he held his mother Karen for 5 hours, until they came back, then send Adeline to take the kids to a babysitter. It was said that Karen had molested Jacob when he was 9, using him for sex, also one of his older brothers. We the jury speculated that he probably raped his mother during this 5 hours, it was said that he had raped her a few years earlier, she told family, but not the law. He built this room for the purpose of keeping his mother prisoner for sex, and taking her monthly check. They lured her husband to their house, Jacob was hiding, as Clayton walked by, Jacob shot him in the back of the head. Then the two of them placed a plastic bag over Karen's head, Adeline tried to smother her with a pillow but was not strong enough, so she held Karen's legs while Jacob smothered his mother.

Karen certainly was not a good mother, but did not deserve what she got. She should have been reported years ago, but both boys kept quiet. Had they spoken up, she would have gone to prison, they could have gotten help and the outcome would have been vastly different.

We watched video of Jacob in Lowes in Lufkin buying large amounts of charcoal and lighter fluid. We saw pictures of the sex room, the portable building where they and the 3 kids, ages 14 to 5, slept, another portable building that was called Jacob's office, all were filthy, full of trash, and other crap. Places where you would not let your dog set foot in, just terrible environment for those kids, and the damage goes on to the now third generation. All I know about the kids is that they were picked up by CPS when Jacob and Adeline were arrested.

They burned the bodies, scraped up buckets of ashes and dirt, scraped up the bloody dirt where Clayton died and drove over 3 counties dumping it out. Cell phone tower pings showed their movements. We saw testimony of 4 different cell phone Forensic experts detailing texts, calls and where they went. We watched hours of interviews with Jacob and the sheriff, 3 different interviews, full of lies, each time getting a few more truths. It was Jacob that took the officers to the dump locations where they gathered up the dirt and ashes. No identification for Adeline could be found, brought to America when she was a small child, she had no documentation, her SS number belonged to someone else, ICE could not figure out who she even is. We watched hours of interviews with her, we did not see when she cut a deal with the state and got 40 years, then she will be deported. She even took one of Clayton's bones that had a metal pin in it, and put it in a blender trying to get the metal pin out.

The work done by our deputies was outstanding. They gathered boxes and boxes of evidence. Trinity county is a poor county, there is not labs to process such things. Evidence was sent to various places in the state to be processed. The buckets of dirt and ashes were the clincher, the damning evidence. most bone fragments were tiny, half the size of my little fingernail. The forensic expert had a bachlors, masters and doctorate degrees plus board certified and served on the board. She painstakingly sifted through 5 gallon buckets of dirt, ashes and trash to find evidence. She did find some bone fragments big enough to be tested for DNA. Both Karen's and Clayton's DNA was found, matched to the hairbrush and tooth brush. There were pictures of all the bone fragments found. Teeth. Teeth were found and processed. She had pictures and x-rays of each tooth. Dental records were found, none matched Clayton's, but Karen had LOTS of dental work. Crowns, root canals and one implant. We were shown the dental record x-ray of a tooth, then the matching tooth found in the bucket of dirt and ashes. one after another and another, maybe 10 to 15 teeth, This lady was smiling, she knew the value of her hours of work.

This all started as a wellness check when Clayton did not show up for work. His boss and coworkers were concerned. Deputies checked it out, Jacob and Adeline said they were out of town and they were taking care of their dogs. Boss called in the second day, Clayton and his wife were estranged, lived on same lot but in different travel trailers and getting a divorce. Deputies went back, started digging. Over the course of several days, they had enough suspicion to get a warrant to search the premises of both Karen and Clayton, also the premises of Jacob and Adeline. Jacob and Adeline had Karens bank card, which they said they were being paid to care for the dogs, they drew out $280 daily........ Evidence was gathered and the deputies went back a couple of days later and arrested Jacob and Adeline.

There was lots of experts in their field, many hours long videos, much testimony and details. Lies and more lies, trying to save their own selves, blaming each other, to sort through and come up with a conviction. Every single one of us agreed quickly, voted and convicted a murderer. The system does work. The wheels of justice grind slowly, but justice was done.

I'm sorry you and the others had to endure that, but thank you for helping the justice system work.

So this makes me think what is normal??? If you get tested and compared to normal what is it. Both genders are different and is nationality. Also the way you are raised. There is things I see in my self the is clearly my mom. Was I taught it or if I never knew her would I be the same ?? Look at kids who are adopted and how they are some times it's learned other times it's genetics. I add house numbers as I drive. If it's a 4 digit number I add them all together. Does that mean that I'm special and need to talk to some one. The more I see and the more I learn most everything is a sales pitch and or a scam. Drs are really bad with it. Sure let me diagnose you with this take this medicine oh by the way u don't know that I get $.30 of every$1.00. when you by this prescription. Or yes you need to come see me again and again and again. Just my thoughts. We all are different and surely have some medical/ mental issues. But then again what is the normal. I may not wanna be compared to the Normal people....

WOW. Now that's something that could make it's way onto some television show.

Sounds like the system works well in TX. God bless the deputies for following through. That does not happen here. Lots of examples (and people I know). Here the criminal gets the benefits, the victim is on trial.

One jury I was on the foreman was convinced it would be a "landmark" trial and would grab his 15 minutes of fame. Yeah -- idiot, and idiots that followed/believed him. Bleeding hearts and all.

As to ADHD, I really think it has been overdiagnosed. DS3 broke his navicular bone (base of thumb - was surprised to hear that humans had one! LOL). I asked when he culd return to his normal activities. Doctor said he could do everything with his cast, then asked what his normal activties were. I told him feeding large herd of goats, medium flock of sheep, 6 horses, and multitude of other farm chores, as well as walking to and from school. The doctor got a stunned look on his face and said DS3 needed to cut his activities back for a week or so. LOL I never thought of him as ADHD although he may have had AD because I saw when he was showing his goats one time that he seemed to space out for a bit in the ring.

My opinion on over dagnosing of ADHD (particularly HD) these days is because people are living on small lots and in small apartments. Their children have no chores, don't go outside to play much, aren't alowed to ride their bikes around the neighborhood, or run around with their friends. In general they have to burn off their energy inside their small houses annoying their parents.

I did have a friend whose first child was ADHD and as an infant NEVER slept for more than 15 minutes. Poor Noreen was a basket case caring for him. There are definitely real cases of it, but I think if a child has normal energy and activity levels their parents rush to the doctor demanding medication for their ADHD afflicted child. The medication is really for the parents who see normal childhood energy as exhausting.

Their children have no chores, don't go outside to play much, aren't alowed to ride their bikes around the neighborhood, or run around with their friends. In general they have to burn off their energy inside their small houses annoying their parents.

I think that has a lot to do with some of this. I ran all over, biked at least 50 miles a day in HS for fun. Climbed trees, ran dogs in farm fields, caught horses, etc. DS played in ditches and explored all over. Things now are different. No place, time, or safe area for kids to burn off energy. Everything is supervised and scheduled. Sad how things have changed.

@Finnie, You do realize that most people with ADHD are above normal intelligence? We may be flighty and goofy, but on a topic that catches our interest, we zero in like a laser beam. A lot of high achievers are on the spectrum. Elon Musk has Aspergers. My son in law has Aspergers and OCD. My DD has ADHD, as does her youngest daughter. I see myself in that girl. So I'm pretty sure I'm ADHD, it would be nice to be tested. I joined several FB groups and as I read posts, I think, I DO THAT!
