Baymule
Herd Master
My dear friend @Margali and family are moving. They have to sell their current home and buy another. Can anybody say MAJOR UPHEAVAL? She was considering selling her sheep. I happen to know she relies heavily on her sheep for sanity’s sake. A working Mom with family…… y’all get the idea. Changing jobs and moving, that’s a lot to handle. Sell her sheep? No. Bring them to me. I got’cher back.
I took Little Rindo out of the front field so I could let the 10 young ewes and one weather out with the rest of the ewes. I took Rocky’s girl away from him, that gives me 35 sheep in the front field. At the moment, they are happily mowing down the grass in my yard.
The property line fence in the pen Margali’s sheep are going in has low spots under the fence, mainly due to stumps in the fence line. The shear operator who logged the property next to me cut them as low as he could which helped a lot, but there are gaps.
I hit my handy dandy dirt pile.
I got a scoop of dirt and threaded my way through land mines such as that burned out stump, headed past the opulent Pallet Palace, to the fence.
Happy accident, unintentionally of course, there was room to squeeze my tractor through.
Gaps under the fence.
I dumped 6 bucket loads. I dug out the clay clods and lined them up on the other side of the fence.
Time for some manual drag line work, AKA Shovel.
There are 3 dump loads of dirt where the Pallet Palace stands, to raise it up above Lake Level. Petrified wood comes in the loads of dirt. Here’s a couple of chunks that I’ve just left laying here.
I took out the water and feed runs, washed, cloroxed and scrubbed them.
Saturday is sheep moving day!
