I'm looking for 1/2 gallon jars for milk storage. Where is the best place to get these? I can't find them in stores and I've looked online only to find the shipping charges outrageous....costing more than the actual jars.

Are you just talking about Mason or Ball jars? I see them in Walmart a lot. If you have one near you, you may want to check it out. Also, if they don't have them in a store near you, you can order them online have them sent to the store and you pay no shipping, just pick up at the store.

yes...I'm looking for canning jars...the largest ones I've seen at walmart or grocery stores are the quart size. There are 1/2 gallon ones I see online.
like these...just trying to find the best price where shipping isn't so high. http://www.freshpreservingstore.com/detail/TCL+68100
I guess this one isn't bad....$10.49 for the jars plus $6.95 shipping. Does anyone know of a better deal? or if Tractor supply carries them?

You might check at your local farm store or hardware store that sells canning supplies and ask them to order them for you. Our local Ace hardware store is very good about ordering stuff for me. Then you don't have to pay shipping.

I just saw some at our Ace Hardware. I know I should have bought them. I just keep thinking "oh, I wish I had gotten them!!" Next time for sure. BTW, today I went to Walmart and they ONLY had pints. Not even quarts!! Appalling

I had never seen them in stores until this year. I happened to see them at TSC so I bought a case.
