I drove Caleb to the park this morning. It was after 10, so I expected it might be busy.

I parked way in the back.We went past the early voting area, cluttered with lots of political signs. People were walking around. Caleb walked past a banner that was snapping in the breeze, no reaction.

On a grassy area there was a group of tween girls doing warm ups and practicing volleyball moves, their volleyballs bouncing around. I had Caleb sit and watch. No reaction.

We then walked the paved trail that goes around the entire complex. Joggers ran by, no reaction. People were walking, no reaction. Caleb did want to meet a Sheltie, but we didn't let it happen.

Over in the field I let Caleb explore on his 20' leash, then recalled him. He did really well, sitting once he came up to me. He got lots of loving.

Lastly we walked through the playground. There were little children running, squealing, swinging, and Caleb did not react.

I am very proud of my Good Boy.

The loose dogs from January are back. Caleb was in the backyard, went crazy, barking. I let AC know.

Poor pup, he calmed down some but was very anxious the rest of the afternoon, tearing around the house, acting up. I put him to bed in the crate early, and he settled down.

People stink.

He got anxious towards the end after seeing the same pitbull twice. It's not the particular dog, just A DOG. Twice.

Then after we got home Caleb continued acting anxious...not really bad, but not a state he needs to be in. It didn't help that someone down the street has a yappy dog that is barking hysterically, and nonstop.

I gave Caleb a chicken foot, and put him in his crate for a Time Out.

We'll get back on track.

Thank you.

Caleb has been hair-trigger all day, jumping up, chewing on my hands, etc. It's frustrating. This afternoon he had a TO/nap for an hour or so in his crate, and then I walked him around the yard, a nice uneventful stroll. I don't want to walk him down the street in case those %$@! dogs show up again.

He's currently distracted, working on a stuffed Kong bone.

Wondering....he really likes to run & play with the dogs at the fosters house. Any chance the other dog sightings make him anxious due to his wanting to run & play? Or is it a different fibe?
Caleb's fight with yappy Corgi stressed him, but he calmed down.

But the two loose dogs are the same ones that attacked us three times. In the second incident I sprayed the big dog in the face with wasp spray as he came at me, but he came at me again, and I sprayed him a second time.

Those two are aggressive, and dangerous. AC is unable to handle it, so I'm borrowing a BB gun.

Tuesday Outing

Caleb was still mildly anxious last night, and this morning. After our yard walks he took a nap at my feet. I wanted to try another walk location, wanted it to be stimulating but not scarey.

First we went to a voting location nearby. It was at a church school, so Caleb got to sit and watch a line of elementary students entering the building. Some of them squealed "doggy!"

Over by the playground was a very scarey gas grill and big metal trash can. I stood a few feet away and let Caleb approach and sniff when he was ready. Oh, not as scarey as he thought.

Then I headed east to a town on the Pamlico River. There's a riverside walk next to the docks where boats are tied up.

It was exciting, though Caleb was a little uncertain at first. I sat on a bench at several different locations. We saw other dogs being walked on leash. I think he enjoyed it, no issues, no lunging, no hiding behind me.

When we got home I made myself a late lunch, and Caleb laid down next to me and sighed, relaxed.

I'm thinking it was a positive experience.
