Thanksgiving Day

Coffee at hand.
:caf

Caleb whined and fussed for about 40 minutes after I put him to bed, then settled down for the night, no issues.

After I got up and dressed we had a walk with the leash, then I let him loose in the backyard. After exploring, and marking, he noticed something in the woods outside the fence (probably a cat). A few barks and then he started bounding, almost like hopping. He did that for a few minutes, started barking again, and I whistled for him as it was early, didn't want to annoy the neighbors. He came running but didn't stop, but zoomed past me, then yelped. Immediately he came to me, but on three legs, he must have hit his hind foot on something. It possibly could have been the cattle panels that are laying flat on the ground in the back.

He got up the stairs on his own, favoring the leg.

Since then he's had 1/2 cup of moistened kibble and a chicken foot, and is bearing weight on his leg. I'll watch him but will have the vet check it when we go on Tuesday.

This concludes your 6:30am report.

Cat Addendum

Debbie did not sleep on the bed though I left the door cracked. About 5am I heard the door creak, ever so slightly. I got up and saw Debbie waiting in the hall. I topped off her food dish and gave her some time before I released The Beast. Debbie disappeared once I brought him out.

She's smart.

Have a fantastic Thanksgiving Day. ❤️
Thank you, you too!

One of the outside kitties got chased in the backyard, went over the gate, and Caleb went through where the gates meet! They went into the woods, and I circled around and intercepted him. He was limping a little, dummy.

So...next time Caleb is loose in the backyard I'm dropping the other gate rod to keep it from moving.

Learning curve.

AHA....he's part goat! Escape artist genetics.
He's trying (very)...

I put him in his day crate just so I could visit the bathroom, and only threw one of the latches. I suddenly heard Caleb crying in pain, and I rushed back to a dog with his snout caught in the crate door, held tight like as in a trap.

He now has a contused nose.

I'm such a bad Mom...
