Also, if he’s happy to sleep in a different room from you, that’s a sign that he’s feeling comfortable in his home, and doesn’t need to be clingy to you overnight. No separation anxiety.

Will having him not in your bedroom overnight be preferable in Debbie’s eyes?
You KNOW that's a yes. 😻

Caleb is having more supervised freedom in the house. Debbie is usually watching from one end of the hallway as Caleb looks at her from the other end, no barrier between. He looks, head up, tail gently waving, NOT the head down laser focus stare. I say "Nice kitty, nice kitty", then call him away.

Had a walk in the park this morning. Caleb wanted a Scratch & Sniff walk, so we worked on stopping at trees only when I allow it.

We also worked on sit and wait when other walkers approached. We met one dog, a Lab with a responsible owner, but the Lab had to get out a couple barks, and Caleb responded.

After the nature trail I took Caleb over to the picnic shelter, and he walked through without any concern.
:yesss:

Then I took him on a circuit of the playground, which had 3 or 4 screaming children. They saw Caleb and started barking. Caleb was interested but not reactive. We passed through another picnic shelter (all are covered with a solid roof) without incident.

Good boy!
