I'm always in the market for great plans to do some grand improvements......

... some vague time in the future...
I had bought 3 rolls of the cheapest welded wire fence that I could get my hands on quickly to fence the back yard in preparation for Birdie's arrival. Very quickly threw it up along the inside of the already standing 3-board oak fence. Didn't have the right screw/washer combo in hand, so just tired it to posts. Since it quickly became clear that she wasn't ever going to be in the yard alone & that we had other pressing issues to work out, I never upgraded to a permanent installation.
This AM I had to do a quick repair on a bit of the electric paddock fence and I got to thinking.....
I've never been happy that my perimeter fence is electric. I totally agree with all of you who insist that electric is great for keeping animals off of a fence or for cross-fencing but that woven wire is the safest choice for perimeters.
So now I'm working on a cup of coffee & wondering if it would be possible/do-able/reasonable to take all this fence down from around the yard & start putting it up in the paddock...

3 rolls won't be NEAR enough to do the pasture. But..... maybe an ongoing project????
I keep saying that I can't have anything smaller than my Eva because goats & sheep will just walk out of an electric fenced pasture.... but maybe, one day????
1 roll a month or so...?
Or maybe I just caught a case of the "I wants" from seeing ALLLLL those goats & sheep at the swap yesterday....
