Put the nest boxes outside the coop, on the east or north side so they don't get hot in the summer. That will free up some floor space.
Our nesting boxes are on the outside. It really does give you more room. Our coop was originally designed around bantams, so when we decided to get the big girls were had to make some changes.
Here are some pictures of our setup and what we had to change.

Went out 8am to get started. It felt like satan met me at the door & farted in my face. 🥵
Push mowed the chicken yard just before dark yesterday so luckily I don't have to do that today.
Hopped on the mower - it eventually cranked up & off we went coughing & sputtering & blowing smoke.
Got the driveway, a few circles near the barn & part of the front yard done before it just quit. Cranked it for a while to see if it might start.... nope. Pushed it up the hill to the barn so I could at least use the charger on it if I killed the battery cranking.
Had a little water break & decided that it was only going to get hotter..... got out the push mower.
Finished off where I had started near the barn, did the big circle in the driveway, then the very overgrown area between the barn & coop, down near the hay wagon & around the garden.
Grass is fairly thin near the house & the heat index is 106°.
Taking my sunburned self in for a shower, lots & lots of water & a nice nap in front of a fan.

Time for a huge iced tea! In the shade!
