I had on like that way back when (70s) Iranian guy. I could never do anything right - but credit always given to the Greek guy for my work. Sad. So glad I'm not in that rat race. Got the patents to prove I did it - but of course I wasn't a guy so I didn't count.
Hang in there - you know you're good.
And 🤞 for Eva being knocked up! (laughed when I read that)

As for Eva.... I had a jersey cow years ago, that I bred AI... Checked preg at 60 days.... Then she showed typical heat a tivity.....riding and fully standing for another cow to ride her.... Over the course of 5 months had her rechecked and was still "pregnant".... And she was with a bull after 60 days ... So figured she could be bred to the bull... Well she calves on schedule with a jersey calf ...
SOOOO... Yes, it is possible.... Is your breeder friend close by where he could stop by and bump a calf? Or palpate her? If she is that far, even I could do a preg check and tell you preg or not.... I can usually get it right after 5 months or so....
Saying is something like left is lunch (rumen), right is replacement (calf/preg)..... Sometimes you can bump a calf ... You take a fist, push/punch in behind the ribs, and the calf will bounce back against your fist.... It's a gentle punch in and hold it there for a few seconds... Does NOT hurt them. Takes some practice but some people are good at it. I better at palpating.

2025 is winding down.
Work has been busy, so very little is going on around the farm.
I'm watching Eva. Some days she looks fat. Some days she looks pregnant. Some days she looks PO'ed at the whole world.... then after a couple of ginger snaps she looks like a very large Labrador.
I'm still getting 1 small egg a day from the Breese girls. Either 2 are duds OR they are '1 egg every 3 days girls'. Either way - between the crazy, flighty temperaments, the lack of eggs (which IS 1/2 of the dual purpose thing 🤔), and the not all that impressive growth.... I'm not going to pursue them any further.
Busy, busy getting the house & meal prepped for Thanksgiving. Work hours were cut from 4 12hrs to 4 10hrs but somehow I'm just as tired when I get home. I think it's the atmosphere. We're getting along much better but the hours & hours of constant political & racest drivel on the radio is exhausting & the uncertain future... will I go back to the Beamer? Will they create a night shift for the lab? Will they try to move me to the other lab upstairs now that they are starting it back up but have lost almost all of the staff?? I just want peace - knowing what I'll be doing 6 weeks down the road would be great.
I pop on here now & then trying to keep up on all the goings on.

Or have a vet call if you really want to know for sure.

Judging her by myself, either of those things could cause her to look PO'ed at the world . . . .

That constant drivel on the radio is soooo bad - even if you're not listening your subconscious hears it. At least when you're home you don't have it. Keeping that off around here is a Godsend.
I can't believe T-Day is almost here, less than a week. I'm always thinking it's next week (every year) - I better get on the stick and start prepping the house here.

Can you wear earbuds to drown out the radio?

I suppose I could, but I'd have to pop one out and ask her to repeat herself everytime she said something.
She claims it's the only station she can pick up without static. We are, after all, in a huge metal building. 🙄
I'm Bluetoothing my favorite station this morning.
🤗🤗🤗🤗 OH THE BLISS!!!! Music, music, music with only the briefest break every 2 or 3 songs for station ID & morning show chatter. I haven't heard anyone snarl 'white MAGA' all morning. 🤩
I should have some free time this afternoon & I plan on wearing out those tuning buttons to see if I can find ANY station that we might both enjoy.
