Hello everone ,,

Can you please share your experiences of using CIDR and PMSG hormone . Was the protocol sucessful ? Was it on season or off season breeding protocol? How did it help you? Did it increase reproduction rate, twinning etc.? Do you recommend it for accelerated production of lambs? Do you think its worth the money? Any notes or ethical considerations?

My sister uses them every year to get fall lambs. She seems to have good success and has a lot of twins and triplets.

I’m considering putting CIDRS in a few of my ewes that didn’t breed last fall to see if I can get some fall babies.

What breds of anials are you planning to use them on?

They are used primarily in animals that are seasonal breeders. Used to get fall lambs for early fairs or other reasons you need to breed out of season. A friend used to use them to get her Suffolk crosses to produce fall lambs for club lambs.

I have White Dorsets which are out of season breeders and will produce lambs for me all year round without using hormone stimulants on need for them.
