James Fuller Fixx (April 23, 1932 – July 20, 1984) was an American who wrote the 1977 best-selling book The Complete Book of Running; he is credited with helping start America's fitness revolution by popularizing the sport of running and demonstrating the health benefits of regular jogging. Fixx died of a heart attack while jogging at 52 years of age...
... but I thought Forrest Gump started the jogging thing 🫠

Yeah, the kids learned responsibility, exercise to go out and set up targets or go chasing after rabbits, walked all through the woods, learned excellent eye hand coordination... and didn't sit in a climate controlled room on a couch doing nothing but twiddling their thumbs.....!!!!!!

I would say --- we had much more fun!! I learned how to catch a horse -- was told I could ride any one I could catch. Left alone to catch and handle on my own. Tender age of 6. I think that's why I can read livestock. Afternoons after school it was always outside in the yard target shooting (bow and arrow). Weekends and summers my friend an I would put 50 miles a day on our bikes.
