Recently for christmas I got a goat coat which I had asked for, but it was wayyy too large to fit a baby. I ordered the 18 in  What size (From base of neck to base of tail) would you recommend for an oberhasli goat kid for the first week of their lives? Here's the link: http://www.jefferspet.com/breathe-comfort-dog-blanket/p/0027209/c2p/hp/ (I know that it's a dog coat, but they're heavy duty)

Also, I was thinking about getting this milk bucket from Jeffer's, however I have no clue what size to get. Does it look sanitary enough? The price is what really got me looking :) It will be for when at fairs for milking 1-2 oberhasli goats. Here's the link: http://www.jefferslivestock.com/stainless-steel-pails/camid/LIV/cp/16034/

And, last but not least  I have a collection of the antique dairy bottles, but I can't use them because they don't have caps. Is there any place that sells caps for them? It would be great so I could bring milk home from when I'm at the farm.

Thanks, D.o.G.

That is cheap for a dog coat! I have Nigerians so I couldn't tell you size. Order a few different sizes and then you will have coats available if they need one longer than a week or so or if you have a large kid.

You want milk pails to be stainless steel and no edges. The corners and stuff should be rounded so it is extremely easy to clean. Not sure what size you would need. Really depends on how many goats you will be milking.

Have you looked online to see if you can find tops for your milk bottles?

Thanks! I'm interested in the one at Jeffer's however because I have a gift card there :D And I wonder if the "Goat Milk" bottle caps would fit an antique bottle. Hmmmm....

I found milk bottle caps for the antique bottles! This website offers multiple different size caps! I'm so excited, because I ALWAYS find antique milk bottles in antique stores for a really cheap price, plus they look cool! I just got hot chocolate mix from a local farm that had it in the pint-sized bottle...

I'd say get the 12 and the 14 inch coats. Obers are fairly good sized at birth. These 2 are standing on a 12 inch board, they are 3/4 Oberhasli 1/4 Nubian. My purebred Ober babies were stockier.

Yes, I do love my Obers, they are some of the best I've worked with. Being as I breed for working animals, not show animals I can play with the black lines too. This pic says everything anyone needs to know about Obers. This is my buck with my grandson.

Awww! I love the black obies... Although we have only traditional bucks, we have a few black obies which we will occasionally get black kids from. You can also get them from two traditionals, too.
