I posted the other week about Pepper having a congested udder (just one side).

Anyhow when the Vet came out she gave antibiotics and antiinflamatory shots.

I have been massaging and milking out that side.

Whilst things were improving it seemed to be a little slow.

On Fias Farm site they mentioned giving Vitamin C several weeks prior to kidding.

Well I thought it's worth a try (I didn't have any chewable Vit C) just the regular sort, I did manage to get her to eat one 1000mg from my hand, that's all she would take, I presume they must taste awful.

Within two days her udder was improving much quicker, and now it is normal. I haven't milked her for two days, and all seems OK, so little Chops must now be suckling from both sides.

Just thought I would mention it.

Well, congratulations on a good outcome. I am glad to hear your congested udder is OK now. It's good to hear when these conditions do improve!!

Good for you! I'm glad to hear she's doing better. Sometimes just trying something works out well!
