My little LaMancha buck has an infrequent cough. Before you get too excited, let me clarify some circumstances. I live in western Montana and the smoke from all the wildfires has been thick here. Still, none of my other goats have a cough. He tends to cough more when I lead him with his collar and he resists. It seems pressure on the trachea does it. I've tried the halter but he hates that even more. No coughing, though.

Should I consider giving him some antibiotics or see if it's smoke(rs) cough?

Hmmm. Antibiotics may help it. I have a couple coughing right now. The cooling nights can also get them coughing, I gave the onse that had a runny/snotty nose antibiotics, but I am just monitoring the others. or if they are having a hard time eating, because they are always coughing then I will treat them.

No chance you have a vet that can come out, since you are having a couple problems? I know the availability and cost of a vet can vary between areas.
