Been working on the hides all day.
The flesh also pickles and will "break" white-
Got pretty much all of theleft over flesh from the chocolate hide.
black is just slow to dry for some reason.
white still needs fleshing, but it's pickled, so there's no rush.
Last bags in the bins. Gotta buy more. Ugh.
Guiller-moo went in...oops. He's always sticking his head into the bins when I feed, today, the barber was down and he accidentally went in. Immediately turned around once he had the space. Slipping on the floor a bit, too.
Got about 12 bags moved over. The storage hut is not big enough...lol.
New layers of manure were put out and spread thin.
Rebred two failed does. Need to rebreed the other failed ones.
Waiting on the friendly mutt and Hops to kindle.
Steely had her kits.
Sire is Mallow, the NZW.
I am hoping something great is in here to make the money I dumped on him worth it.
Cassy was bred to Mallow and Chinny, but I failed to check if they're rex furred or not. Any that aren't, means they're Mallow kits. I think there's a mix of the fur types, but I'll have to check later to be sure.
Will have to rewet small areas on the 2 old ones. One on the vent for not drying fast enough.
Four almost done and ready to be oiled with the other three.
Will start the other 3 old ones once these are all dry and on the ready pile, out of the way.
Then dig up more from storage. Lol.
Hoping to make something out of these, finally. I'm thinking a blanket would be easiest. Just not sure if I'll go all Rex or all Silver Fox or if I'll mix them together...That'll have to wait until I know how much of each I actually have.
Realized that two big SF hides could make a vest with little changes to them! Lol. Maybe some side pieces, 2in wide or so, to make it more comfy.
Anyway, the rex was dry, off to the waiting pile. Others drying further, one still needs stretching.
And...getting stronger sucks. I keep ripping them.
