Found a quick grower in Tippy's litter. A boring black, haven't posed her yet, but her growth makes her a keeper.

Perfect in Rex, exceeds the SF chart and is right on time in meat mutt chart.

Raven kinda made a nest, Coal nothing. So, waiting a few more days before culling them out.

Clip failed. Tippy kit found it's way into Berry's cage.
She was so cool with it...
Got a real spring lock for it now. It's happened 2× before. Ugh

Okay, the day has come!
I'm sick, but feeling better than yesterday, so, time to get things done!
Culling, skinning, posing, weighing, posting & culling young ones. In 32F weather. My poor toes and fingers.

Coal was culled out.
Raven, eh, idk. She made a nest in her cage, no fur, she feels and looks big, but didn't really feel kits. Decided to give her another day or so.

Culled out 4-5 kits to be dog food.

Well, guys, don't cull while sick. Culled the wrong kit.
Anyway, pics before culling 4-5 of them out.

I'm liking the broken blue.



The Steely × Mallow kits are huge compared to Hops × Drizzle! Didn't think to pick up a Hops kit, but it's a good bit of a size jump.

I wonder how well these will grow. Maybe I'll keep Steely around for fast kits with him regularly.

Tail lengths.
Blue is Navy, a 2+ year old. 3.5"
A year between them.
Black is Coal, the 11mo old. 4.5"

The fast Rex. Tippy × Rew
Not pretty, but much larger than the others. I do wonder if it's internal fat, though. So, didn't cull out all of the others in the litter.

Dang! Bit forward, but if he keeps this depth, his size will be irrelevant! He's also very friendly.

went to pull a freezer rabbit for the dogs, but noticed 3 big chocolate SF, pulled all 3 for their pelts. Waiting for them to thaw enough to skin.

Keeping both, as Navy is gone. One for the Rex line, other for the SF line.


Sky is still nice, hasn't had a kit better than herself. Her buck is nearly her weight....he's a fatty....a day shy of 19wks, 4.75 months!


Hops buck n doe.
doe looks better, heavier by almost half a pound. I think I'll list the buck...

Moved the frozen 3 into the bathtub to thaw. Weather is so all over the place this week.
