That is very helpful. The jar that crystalized is one of several dated 2024, but the only one from lavender flowers.

I don't have a whip attachment, wonder what would happen if I just used the regular beaters?
Do you have a blender? That might break the crystals down faster. But beaters whip egg whites, so maybe that would work fine. If you try it, let us know. 🙂

EEEEK!!!! That's where I'm not a fan of bees. I'll super appreciate what you do!
💞Thank you!💞
It was my own fault, that and the smoker quit as I was pulling frames. I couldn't get the hive put back together fast enough...lol It was hot out and I chose not to wear my bee jacket, just a long sleeve shirt. I've been doing that all summer, but as winter approaches the bees become a little testy...lol

Just spotted this beauty on my Dahlias. It's a Hunts Bumblebee. It was moving off before I could get a good picture of it. I've never seen one before.

Did our 4th OAV treatment tonight.
Here's a little rundown of our Mite-e-Vape.
When the green light goes off, it's at temp, 400° This shows it right side up.

This silicone cup holds 4g or 1tsp of Oxalic acid.
Once it's at temp and the light goes off, you turn the vaporizer upside down and push the cup into it. Sorry I didn't get a picture of that.

Keeping the vaporizer upside down you stick it into a 1/4" pre-drilled hole, in the back of the hive. Then you turn it right side up, tap the cup a few times to make sure the acid crystals have dropped into the vaporizer. When the light goes off it's back up to temp. I leave it in for about 20 more seconds, then remove it. Super simple and fast.

Thought I'd give you all a laugh at my expense.
The bees were spicy today and since I was stung twice, tonight I decided I'd better have my jacket and veil on. I didn't need it, but wasn't in the mood to be stung again today.

Don't think I'll go out and about like this...lol

I have several jars of honey in the cupboatd, all purchased from the same local beekeeper. One jar has totally crystalized, the others are still liquid. I know the crystalized honey is still good, just wondering why that one jar did that.
I'm sorry, I stated the wrong reason for crystallization, I said higher moisture, it can actually happen with lower moisture. I should have double checked myself before answering. It can also be caused by a higher glucose to fructose ratio. It depends on the nectar source.
