Drstratton - My Backyard Journey Journal

I think I've heard of that, but I'm not familiar with it at all. How do you use it?
Let me look it up, she's on BYC.

Thank you so much. I'm going to order some of this to keep on hand.

I hopefully have some good news.

I was getting everything set up for her, I went out to get the water bucket. Of course everyone comes running for a treat. So I threw some scratch to them. Then I see that she is eating. Her tail is still tucked, but that's a big improvement. I'll wait to see how she does, before I do any treatment. That will also give me some time to order the slippery elm.

I feel very wishy washy today...lol She was back to just standing and tucking her head and her tail was still tucked. She looks like an old lady instead of a 5.5 month old. I talked with my husband and we decided to bring her in so that we could monitor her condition. She immediately drank water. This girl is not my friendliest, she's one that won't eat out of my hand. Maybe this will help her to trust me a bit more. I scrambled some egg, she hasn't eaten any of it yet. I added some sunflower seeds into it. Hopefully she'll try it at some point.

Try some ACV (helps PH in gut) in her water, some oregano on the egg, it works as antibiotic for various infection/inflammation....

Slippery elm is helpful to heal gut lining in goats who've had severe worm infection. Esp barber pole, as they bore into intestinal lining & can actually create a hole -- making leaky gut.

Thank you! I'd completely forgotten about adding acv. I was also thinking about adding a little honey. It has antibiotic properties and it will give her an energy boost. I didn't know about oregano, that might encourage her to eat the egg. It looked like she went after the sunflower seeds, but not a lot.
Slippery elm sounds pretty amazing.
