Yes, it's always sad when you can't do anything for them.
I love a colorful basket.
I've had one experience with a crop issue, she didn't survive. I have been told that with crop problems the odds are against recovery. But I have acquired the tools I need and knowledge of what I can do to treat it quickly in the future. And yes, I can tube a chicken now.

I've successfully treated many times. I have not used a tube. That is something I need to learn. I was encouraged when she started to eat, but that was hit and miss.

Another girl figured out how to escape that horrible pen we have them in. This girl is a little harder to catch. Enjoying my overgrown garden. Tomatoes on the left, raspberries on the right.

The grass is always greener on the other side.
They all just seem to be taking turns. It must be a huge effort for them to get out, because once I get them back in, they usually stay. Well, until the next day anyway...lol

My day has not gone as planned... in pictures, video and necessary descriptions!
I was looking in this old chemigation tank, turned into, first a dog house, now straw and miscellaneous storage, for a roost bar, that I know is out here somewhere. I hear some noise above my head.
This girl has unwittingly shown me where they are getting out of the pen.

I just want to lay an egg mom and then get my well deserved reward in the garden.
30 eggs! I thought I was getting fewer than I should be!

Finally hubs brings What we need to block their escape route. Added some hog panel, offset with the openings.
Pip kitty came to supervise!
I caught her and placed her in the coop at least 5 times before we finally got her blocked. Persistent girl!
