Second tree is down! Yay, such a relief.

Hubs chopped through the roots. It's great that we could use this method, so that the root system went with the tree.

He tied a rope to the top of the tree and ran it through a pulley, then chained it to our pickup.

Down it goes. Sorry it's a little wonky, I was driving the pickup and shooting video at the same time.
Hubs view.
Would not have wanted this to get much taller.

I like watching the videos, thanks for sharing.

What are you doing with the wood?

I'm glad you enjoyed them. 😊
For now, Dale will cut it up and stack it. We have a wood stove. But we don't use it very often. I have some asthma issues and it used to set it off. I'm doing much better with it now, since I changed my diet and lowered the inflammation in my body. So smoke doesn't bother me as much anymore.
It's a lot of wood. We probably won't use it until it's seasoned.

You did a SUPER job of videoing AND driving the truck to pull it over...

Smart system to get it down... and it fell in just the right spot... Yeah, you would not have wanted it to be much taller...
Thank you Jan! That means a lot. 💗

He is very good at what he does. Using pulleys works so well. We've done it with several trees. I think of the 40 plus trees he's taken down, he's only been a little off maybe a couple of times.
