I still have no idea how you keep all of that going on. :)
Actually.... neither do I some days... I just start at the beginning and try to go with the flow... But I am thinking I want a housekeeper so I can just come in and collapse in a CLEAN somewhat organized house... because nothing gets done in the house most of the time...and since I do not like doing housework, it really does not get kept up with.....

Nice chilly 32 overnight... NOPE .... COLD.... sun is out and it is supposed to warm up today. If the wind stays calmer it will be nice.

Clothes in the washer, ate 2 english muffins for breakfast. I treat myself to them if they have them at Sharp Shopper at $1.59 instead of the 3.49 at the grocery store.....
Got to go up and get the dry manure/dirt out of the barn for use in planting to get these bare root asparagus plants settled in.... only wound up paying like $21,95 for the 25 plants so feel like that was worth it... taking a page from @crealcritter on SS and going to put them in a small kiddie pool on a pallet to be able to move it around to where I will want it to transplant them out... but get them started and growing good and will have their own "root ball" so to speak of dirt when I finally can get them into the permanent bed I want them in.

Got to get the hog panel "calf transport pen" on the back of the truck afterwards so I can go get the calves either today or tomorrow. Will talk to her sometime and see what is more workable. Trying to decide where to put them... here in 2 calf hutches, or take to the nurse cow barn and put them in the one side where they have more room, bigger lot to be in and out of barn, nicer to feed in wet weather (I can be inside under roof) ... and trying to decide how long I am going to keep them... guess they ought to go up there; as if they only stay a week or 2, they will be there to load with the 2 cull cows and their 2 calves that are just not growing ...... if the calf prices stay up then I would be better off turning them over right now... have to see how big they are when I get them. Have to feed grain up there to the other calves anyway so only one "extra trip" up there a day... not as big a deal keeping the bottles warm with the nicer weather, and keep the hutches here, for some I may want to keep longer... plus I've been thinking I am going to move the twin heifers here to be able to eat grass for the summer....don't know yet... they are doing good at the nurse cow pasture and they will be way too young to worry about the bull in there breeding the bigger ones, they won't be coming in heat anytime soon so not going to be a concern with that this year...
Think I just talked myself into putting them at the barn for now...

Got a call yesterday, they were wanting to set up delivering the battery ride on mower... only come this direction on Thursdays... and this Thursday I have my chiropractor appt, so set it up for next Thurs... 4/18. They will call me on Wed with a 4 hr window of time... That way I can keep that day open and it is supposed to be raining this Thursday and I really don't want to deal with it in the rain... yeah, it might rain the next Thursday too... but I didn't want to cancel my chiropractor appt and they could not give me a time frame until the day before... that works fine for me...

So, it is warming up to nearly 60 already so time to get clothes hung, car emptied out, and go up and see about getting some of that barn cleaning out dirt so then I can get the pen on the truck....

So TRUE! I told husband if we can afford it on his paycheck I want to switch all towels and bedding to the fluff n fold service. They take forever to wash at home and we are constantly running out of clean towels.

Been a nice day, overall. Temps got up into the mid 60's with only a little breeze.
Got a bunch done too...

Clothes hung and then got the meters and hoses out of the car and put in carport. I did some picking up of some blown around trash... put one bag in the car to go to dumpster and got more in the house I will load tomorrow to take sometime.

I went up and fed grain to the calves this afternoon.... and took truck so I could load some of the dry.... I mean dusty dry.... barn floor stuff... Some of it is in chunks and I tried to get some of the looser stuff. My shoulder did not like my using the shovel AT ALL.... but I worked slow and got about 1/4 of the bed... maybe more? Between my right shoulder hurting, my left thumb from when I tripped over the rock in the dark several months ago and jammed it which set off the arthritis the chiropractor said, my elbow's bent and my a$$ has a hole in it... I am in rough shape....:gig:th:th:duc:duc:hit:hit:hit....

Most of the calves were in the barn when I went up... that was great... a couple more came in through the creep gate and ate the grain... no one was terribly upset with me doing the little bit of shoveling since I backed the ranger up close to the door and didn't get too overly enthusiastic with the shovel either... and they could go in and out the bigger opening in the other section of the barn too....
Came back and filled one kiddie pool up heaping high to get it off the truck....and 1/3 full in 2 big planters and 1/2 full of one of the molasses tubs for the cows (hold 22 gal of water...) and a couple of smaller planters I filled to get it off the truck.... More than I realized... I was shoveling a few shovels full, take a minute break, do some more.... so I will be able to spread some on top of some of the tubs that have the peonies in them and such to "feed" them a bit too....plants I have in tubs already....
I did not get the asparagus planted but plan to try hard to get them in tomorrow ahead of the rain we are supposed to get... it will settle them in quite well if I get them in... I would like to try to get a few other things planted like the bleeding heart roots before the rain if possible.

Then I got the hog panel cut and put on the back of the truck for tomorrow... going to see about putting a couple of 2x4 pieces on the ends where the long pieces of stiff wire are... so no one sticks themselves on them...Need @Sequestered Ridge Ranch to weld little "rod" pieces of metal down the side to match the other pieces... you can't cut them with the upright on both ends on all 4 pieces... 48" long comes next to the welded upright but when you cut it, one side is "finished" and the other piece has the long ends sticking out... but got them fixed with some zip ties so the calves won't get hurt on them... the back of the ranger is 4x4 if they sit up on the wheel wells... I fudged a little for tomorrow and they will sit inbetween the wheel wells, and will have a piece to go on top also, so they cannot possible jump out ....since it is only 39 inches tall... up on the wheel wells it is about 4 ft tall... it will get a ratchet strap over the top as well to keep it secure in the truck.....like the extra large dog crate I use but no way 3 would fit in there...

The forecast is for rain for Tues through Friday... so they are going to the nurse cow barn so I don't have to stand out in the rain to feed them... I need to get a couple sq bales of hay for the calves that come in so they can munch on them when they are in... the twins were in also and they could use some extra ... they look good and eat grain fine but are out eating what grass they can get and I often have to drive out in the field and get them to come to the barn, following the car, because they do not come to call very well... but they associate the car with getting fed, more than my voice...

There's a new roof on the barn/building there at the nurse cow pasture.... BUT.... the old one is still laying there... It would make a good piece to cut up to use for a few shelters, but I don't have anything I can cut it with and asking DS is a lost cause... haven't seen him all weekend... and only "talked" to him about getting the steers on Saturday, then today when he texted me to go to his house to check on the dogs because they had been next door at the neighbors... he would be up this way in an hour or so... it was nearly 2 1/2 hours when he went by my house headed that way... things going back to the way they were.... ☹️

:duc:duc:duc:idunno:idunno:idunno.

No wind tonight... be a good time to burn... maybe better when it rains this week.... we'll see... it will depend on what he has to do to keep her happy I guess... If it rains good, I may do it by myself one week night....

Brought the clothes in since I have alot to try to do tomorrow.... got to go get the calves, get calf feed, go pick up the racking list to send samples and get them boxed and sent... try to get the plants settled into the planters before the rain....stop and get milk from my farmer while in the direction of the getting feed etc... and feed bottles starting tomorrow evening again.... I will bring some milk home tomorrow, she said she would have some for me.. so have to take some clean buckets with me so I can pick up more on Thursday on the way home from the chiropractor appt too.....

Need to eat something, I ate a sandwich before getting the "barn floor dirt", so am hungry... stomach is growling again...

Took some stuff for the shoulder and need a good hot shower.

Home from 2 separate trips... first one up early to go get the racking list for the samples, then back to get truck and go south to get the calves... The one is HUGE... and the twins are not bad sized... got 2 buckets that are 3/4 full of milk to stretch the milk replacer... probably will turn the big one over at the sale... maybe Saturday if possible. Don't know if DS is thinking about going to the bred cow sale Wed eve... he is in this "depression" mode... and spent the whole weekend with the GF except for going to the bull sale for a bit Sat not far from here, but I went to work...I'm getting worn out with the ups and downs...can't change it, so get on with the next thing....don't know if he has talked to the lawyer yet...

Supposed to go look at a bull from the people we have gotten several off of over the years... just called him... and he said he forgot... he would call them and then call me back... been almost an hour... haven't heard anything as usual.... and tonight is a softball coaching night for her daughter... so won't be this evening now.

Going in to pack the samples and take them and go get milk and feed... going to order feed for the bulk bin that I finally got the slide for on the bottom... then I can not have to go to the feed store all the time...

It is getting darker out... like we are going to get a real rain storm... although it has been mostly cloudy all day with only a few peeks of sun... there won't be any eclipse to see with these clouds out there... OH WELL.... not a big deal to me anyway... seen a few over the years, world hasn't ended yet... might even see the next one in 20 years...

Done for the day.... After I got the samples packed, took them and went to town... got 3 , 5 gal buckets at Dunkin'.... dropped off samples at UPS store to go out. Went to the feed store... got a couple bags of feed and ordered 2 ton for bulk delivery.... whenever they are coming in this direction.... came down to the farm to get milk and spent an hour talking to the farmer... prices on the beef animals, how the dairy cows are doing, state of the country.... I like talking to him. Got the milk for my drinking, came down and got a bag of ice to keep the 2 buckets of milk cold in the cooler so I can use to mix in the replacer for the new calves.... Then came on home and did chores... back to feeding bottles.... and then locked in the chickens and came in... Did NOT get to the planting of the bulbs or the asparagus roots. That is first on the list for tomorrow. There might be a shower this evening... but not much by the looks of it. We got a couple spritz of sprinkles today but nothing that even required the windshield wipers. Looks like it will come through tomorrow, maybe a morning shower, but mostly later in the day, and then more for Wed and Thursday....with some measurable amounts...

Just ate the other part of the steak and going to do some dishes and a bunch of bucket lids that I haven't done yet.

A special THANK YOU to @Palomino for the pictures of the eclipse.... it was cloudy here so nothing to see... got darker like a rain storm was coming, but couldn't see anything in the sky through the clouds...

Started out at 44, temps went to 70 then dropped at least 10 degrees, and are down down to 55 now... cool out there...

Need to see if the owner sampler farmer calls me for tomorrow.... probably will since I don't have to go to the other farm that cancelled due to running out of grain in their feed bin last Friday.... GRRRR:barnie

:he:he. Well, I will see about getting the stuff planted that I can do... then go up later on... to get the samples and do the computer stuff. Have a dentist appt on Wed so can take the reports back then so I don't have to haul the printer up there either... in fact, I will bring home the info and put it in the computer here in the comfort of my house and not have to haul the computer up there either . Just pick up the samples and come home and do the computer stuff and then do more stuff here at the house.
That's a better idea.

Need to stop and get a bucket of chicken feed from the feed bin also... and make sure the other one is ready for the feed delivery.....

Got the batteries charged for the self propelled mower to do some out around the one side of the burn pile so I can better "watch it"... and I want to do along the split rail fence to be able to try the tiller for planting some of the daffodils.... they are blooming nicely but want to get them in the ground so the bulbs can "gather" some nutrition before the leaves die off for the year.

DS might be having a some depression from the harsh discipline handed down -- it's obviously been "announced" by adv his position. It's definitely a deflation to your ego & status among co-workers. 😕. Just a thought.
I agree, but she feeds the "poor you" thing... and she needed her "space" for 2 nights too.... Wed/Thurs.... so that is just the beginning of the old pattern..... and he can't/won't make any effort to try to remember to do things like call me back like he said... and he went down the road after 3 when I was getting ready to take the samples to drop off... so nothing getting done at the farm either...
His ego took a real hit for something he did not think he was doing anything bad...
The last time he had all these problems, with work...was 2 years ago... funny, right about the same time she pulled another of her moods... and then again this past Feb, when she needed her space and they split and she was seeing the ex again.... too much of a coincidence that he runs into problems at work, and he is having problems with her every time it seems....
