Well... Sat night. It's been a long day... but it was okay...
Up at 4, left here at 4:30 and we went to DS's father's house ... my ex. Helped him load the chickens in his car, then DS drove and we got there around 7:30 or so and he got the chickens cooped in and all that.
My DS is still the most negative, "glass nearly empty" kind of person... but oh well....
The saddest thing is he is soooo bent over that he cannot straighten up... I mean nearly bent in half... But he won't do any exercises or anything else ... PT is a "waste" in his opinion... and he continues to get worse and weaker and weaker.
There were some nice birds there... a few rare breeds. A "La Fleche" hen won best Continental, a class of birds.... like Plymouth Rocks and R I Reds and New Hampshires are American class..... which was a HUGE accomplishment... some real nice BIG White Plymouth Rocks...
No New Hampshires in either large fowl or bantams. None of the "Vorwerk" ones I would like to find either... But it was a nice show... About 500 birds I would guess... some real good quality overall.
Came home and left ex at his house, after DS carried his chicken boxes... into his coop, so he could put them in their cages... We came home in my car and that was it...EXCEPT.... Ex tried to call DS on our way and then DS tried him back... figured he must have left something in his father's car... come to find out he fell... and wound up with the rescue squad getting called... have that life alert or something similiar... DS got called about 7:30... and had to go all the way back there... neighbor came also. EX is too da$#@d stubborn to accept DS's help, then DS winds up having to go back and put more time in than if he had just let him help to start with. When DS got the call 10 minutes after we left, I asked if he wanted to go back, and he said no, his father probably found something he left in the car, then won't answer the phone if DS doesn't pick up right away when he calls... and DS calls back... something told me we should go back, but DS knows him better than me so I said okay... EX overdid it today, would not go sit down but used his rolling walker/seat thing and would not even sit down on it....

.
So, he is home, and DS texted me and said he has some scrapes but okay... It's not going to be long and he is not going to be able to manage by himself anymore... he has a housekeeper that comes in and a neighbor that comes and helps feed the chickens he has a couple days a week... but DS said he needs to get himself out there and do some things still, or he will just completely fall apart... but he cannot be gracious about accepting any help when he gets in a "I can do this" type of mood... and he just can't.
So that was my day. They had some other activities there at the Meadowlands Complex... had a competition where people ride horses and shoot ballons.... have to run an obstacle type course... some of them were really really good... some were more beginners, but that is pretty hard to do... Spent some time over watching that going on, while they were judging the different poultry classes...
The wind blew pretty hard and there were high wind warnings, for trailers and such... on the interstate when we were coming across the Blue Ridge Mountains there... along where the Appalachian Trail runs... pretty serious wind gusts..
I'm tired and I am going to bed...
