First snow of the year. Dec 5, 2025. My grandmother's birthday...12/5/1910. She passed in 2008 at 98. Always think of her on this date.
This morning 12/6.....One of the cow calf pairs "behind my house", in grants pasture that we just moved them there a week or so ago.
The dirt road that comes up around behind the house. Not our field, but gate goes in backside of the pasture where the cows are.
My diesel truck and explorer Friday morning ....still spitting a little snow.

He should be ashamed of himself for not doing what needs to be done. 😡

I hope tomorrow is better. :hugs
I think he did not believe that we might get some "real snow"... not just a dusting... He fed hay at several places... these 2 places really should have not "needed" hay... but I would have fed at least a roll or 2 at each place just because...
Doesn't matter right now... I got it done... and today I am going to have to feed some more I think here closer.... see how much this snow melts off... Grants finished the roll that I told him to put in there "just in case" so they would have it... and they ate it right up with the snow... but those sissies need to get out and do some "work" and push through the snow a bit and get some of the grass that is still there... Snyder's had enough with no more than are there right now... the 8-10 in the calving field have enough too...he will be pushed to do alot of feeding when he gets back... It was like 11 hours to drive out there... so won't get back very early on Sunday... and we have to leave at 6 on Monday for 2 dr appts in Roanoke and Blacksburg... 2 hrs south... so it will be late when we get back... don't have a lot of sympathy... except that if they do injections Monday, he will feel like crap...

The sun is out and it feels warm in the sun... you can see the snow melting in the direct sunlight... so it will melt alot today I think... The recording thermometer says 50 in the direct sun right now... and no real breeze so it will warm up ... and all this snow will either be "sucked back up " into the atmosphere, or slowly just sink into the ground... YAY....:bow:bow:bow:weee:weee:weee:celebrate:celebrate

Sent those pics from the phone this morning.... left at 4 to go to test... milking at 5... left there a little after 8... stomach was growling so I stopped for "quickie food"... got the big breakfast at McD... pancakes, eggs, sausage, biscuit.... hash brown... a much better bargain than some of the sandwiches... ate the pancakes and eggs... had a "mocha" hot choc... it was not very good... coffee was bitter... will stick with straight hot choc next time...
I knew I was going to be over an hour... come home.. rode down the road just a little bit to take those pics and went to DS house and fed the dogs and gave Spirit his insulin shot and all... I will go to the farm and check for new calves, then go back to DS's, in a bit, and feed and water the chickens; also do mine here in a bit too; before I go to the farm....
Have to go to the barn, when I check for calves, in the field, and see about getting that steer in and doing some "doctoring" on the leg too....
Had to come in and take some tylenol for the back... Just need a little time for it to kick in... then get back at it...

It's pretty out with the sun and the white clean fields...

Would you like to take a vacation in TEXAS during HAY season?
Probably not, it's hotter than hot. Any other time that farm chores pile up that you could dump on him and tour the South?
Touring the south would be a late fall deal... and it is on the back burner of ideas... before I get too da#@%*d old....
