Would you like to take a vacation in TEXAS during HAY season?
Probably not, it's hotter than hot. Any other time that farm chores pile up that you could dump on him and tour the South?

You could come visit me in WA too. It's beautiful here! Early fall is the best time! ๐Ÿ’ž

With a "detour" through San Diego county!

And then NorCal and take a load back to MO with me :celebrate:D =D:frow๐Ÿ˜‚
We've got it all mapped out for you Jan! ๐Ÿ˜‚
I laugh, but the offer is sincere!๐Ÿ’ž

I love it! Two of my dearest friends are from a forum I was moderator on for many years. One friend was a member and the other was a fellow moderator that moderated multiple forums with me for many years. Have met them both in person when I was near their states. I love when folks meet up after knowing each other online for so long.

I was a host on AOL in the mid 90s onward, started meeting online friends in 1997, and haven't stopped.

All I can say is HOLY COW......:ya:ya:ya:ya:ya:ya:ya:ya:ya

Might be more to the "travel idea"......

How soon are you planning on moving @RR Homestead ?????

Would make it in 2 separate trips... west coast then southern states...

Have met and spent some time with @Mini Horses... Started just her and I at the poultry swap...... added @canesisters .... added @fuzzi .... added the friend of @canesisters ...... drove to Tenn and met @Mike CHS and his wife Teresa... because @Baymule was coming to get a young ram and I thought at the time that I would never get to TX so this was an opportunity to meet her after all the time we have interacted on here, and talked on the phone some.... then @Finnie and I met out at the Columbus Ohio Poultry National show a month or so ago...
Possibilities are endless... lots of "y'all" in TX... plus some members of CT that I have interacted with for many years.... so TX would have to be a separate trip.... ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”

Too bad you couldn't have had the dog at your place so you could have given the shots at home instead having to drive over to your son's 2x day.

Lucky on the calf's leg not breaking. Sorry about the loss of the little calf.
DS's house is like 3/4 mile from me... not a big deal... and I do not want the dogs at my house.. No fences to keep them in,,,, lots of reasons... with Spirit's health challenges now, do not want to take him out of the familiar... it's bad enough being about blind, that he has gotten out and gone up DS;s long driveway and gotten on the road.... he has a collar for the invisible fence thing and does quite well with it... so does his aussie.... got to go by DS house to go to the barn to check cows and now to take care of the calf that messed up his leg...

It is pretty torn up... skin worn/torn off down to the bone... Got him in the barn, he calmly limped/hobbled around to the other gate and down the alley and into the chute... Gave him antibiotics, used some sulfa powder on it... because I could not find the other spray... so this evening I made a trip to TSC and got some blue kote and some spray "aluminum bandage" that many of my dairy farmers use.... tomorrow I will give him more antibiotics... using penicillin, to fight off infection... and a nuflor shot today.... will get him in and do another pen shot and spray the leg good... plus brought a couple sq bales of hay so he can have some and not have to do so much walking ... he is barely using it today... still don't know how he didn't break it...I don't have any banamine or I would give him some for the pain...

It warmed up and half or more of the snow is gone already...had to do some walking to do things because it got soft... so tomorrow morning early while the ground is "hard/firm", I will drive up to check cows for calves... need to go up and feed "the 12" at snyder's and the other couple in there... and go do any other stuff I need to get around with the truck, before it gets soft... Actually hoping now that it will get colder tonight...

Grants cows were all out grazing this afternoon, or laying around so they can do without more hay for a day or 2.... go after the grass that was covered with the snow. Glad the roll was in there though....

Did all the chickens and sheep at DS house today... plus mine here... will have to fill feeders here tomorrow...
Lots on the list... will see what I can get done... above and beyond the necessities with the dog and calf... etc...

Going to bed.. 3;30 came early this morning...

That's so awesome!!!! Haha! I suspect it will be months of moving at this point. First load I truly hope will be leaving in a week or so. Timing with the holidays is going to be tricky. Would prefer NOT to be driving on the holidays but we'll see.
Sweet dreams FarmerJan!

I'm late to the trip planning. After you leave drstratton's place, come south and west to visit me. All I've got is chickens but I do have an absolutely killer view West, looking at the part of OR that comes up the coastline.
