Spectacular sunset the other eve. Taken at top of hill to go into pasture at Snyder's. You can see where we drive... Right behind me is 2 strand electric fence to go through.
Picture of Jess was during summer. She is not a big cow, but she's my pasture ornament that is protective and pretty. Those are 2 bred heifers to the left that since calved in Sept/Oct.
Beautiful! Love the pictures you're sharing. Jess is magnificent! 💗

Sunday eve.... Temp got up to about 50-51 with a spike to 55 with the sun on the recorder...

DS and GF got the cattle moved from BV (middle road) pasture this morning... so that is really good. Not last minute stuff for a change.
I wound up emptying the contents of my stomach... mostly all the sinus drip and stuff and felt better... so went down to the barn this afternoon... he had just gotten the cattle moved and was putting silage in the bunk in the barn to get them started on it... plus let the ones that have been there a few days get their fair share too... he will keep them separate for a few days... be easier to sort the calves off the 2 different groups as we do the preg checks... rather than have them all together.. plus we have to re tag 2 heifers that lost their tags... know which are which so want to keep them separate until that is done... just make it easier. Plus, we will not be separating any cows/calves to move around until after the vet is done and we know who is how far bred and all that.

Silage looks good, smells good, cattle are loving it. I went and got gas in the forester, and then DS was going to take a wagon of silage to snyder's so I went up and opened the gates for him... I put some grain in the barn in the bunk feeder for the couple of calves there... when he put the silage cart in there, they all came to eat... it's good for the hol/her crosses to get it... plus they have the protein tubs so will have a good balance... plus all the hay they want. Have not seen the 2 smaller calves on the 2 old cows up there, go in through the creep gate yet... wish they would learn to come in for grain as the 2 old cows are not making alot of milk... hoping the silage is going to help them a little and keep better body condition...

I then just came on home... The one cow has not calved at snyder's yet ... but one of the 2 still at doug's had discharge so should have a calf by tomorrow we hope. She is a bought cow... so we will see.....

Tomorrow we will be leaving sometime after 9... depends on what he wants to do/needs to do, on the way down... Will go by the small stockyard sale on the way home... one reason he makes as many appts for Mondays as he can... they don't start until 3 so as long as we get out of any dr appts by 2-2:30 we can be there by 3. Not going all the way to Blacksburg, just Roanoke so an hour +/- from here... Some of it will depend on how his back feels after the injections...
Temps are already down to 29, supposed to get a bit colder, then warmer temps coming tomorrow and 60 on Wed??? That will make it nice to do preg checks.

I'm going in to wash my hair and go to bed....

Cloudy this morning... 25 overnight... supposed to get up around 50 today, warmer the next several days... feels real chilly out there still...

DS texted and wants to leave around 11:30 so I guess he doesn't have much to do on the way down.

Samples boxed and ready to go. Guess I will go out and make sure the chickens have water in the rubber pans this morning... Work here in the house for a bit... Got 2 texts from farmers I have to get out calendar and see what is what...

Wish sun was out. This grey cloudy stuff makes for very depressing weather...

Think some oatmeal sounds good. Might stick to the junk in my stomach and help carry it all out... Haha

Beautiful pictures! I love when the sky is that color.
