Give it a try! Sheep and goats always want to eat -- like they've NEVER been fed and it's the LAST ever meal!! the bullies run from spot to spot, just in case there's something different. Hay, grain, doesn't matter. Makes no sense....food aggressive.
It's akin to "grass is greener" when we know it's the same. Long troughs help, doesn't stop it, slows it down. Some will come to a truce and settle down into "their" spot....until another is added.
Since feed bunks came up I thought I’d post a pic of mine - 9 sheep 14 ft of bunk feeder. More often than not, this is how it looks …..
It’s also worked with 3 sheep and a 4 ft bunk as well as 6 sheep on a 10 ft bunk. I think I also remember 9 sheep on a 10 ft bunk (that was before I took 3 to auction).
Wondering if there is a recommended bunk length to sheep ratio.
