Do any of y'all feed corn to ya goats. I was thinking of feeding my two just a half a coffee can a day. Is that a bad idea? Somebody was telling me the goats wouldn't be able to handle corn idk.

i feed my goats corn, but you cant over feed them because of grain overload. Which is when they have too much grain which causes fermentation in the stomach causing painful and possibly fatal bloating. I feed about a cup per goat per day.

I started feeding them corn yesterday day. I have two does 4 months old so I put about 4 handfuls in there. Of course I for get to see them eat it as they aren't tamed yet. I'm now starting to worry if they are drinking water or not. I have two 5 gallon buckets in the pin with them and it don't look like the water has moved. They are eating fine, they are mowing down hedges bushes and sapling trees like crazy. Are they getting enough water from that or should I be concerned they have try water there for them all day?

Make sure it is clean water. They can be picky and really like fresh clean water. But if they get thirsty enough they will drink it as long as it is easy for them to get to.

Yes I dump it out and scrub the bucket everyday just so I know it's clean. They seem to be coming around to me just a little I was able to call them up to within 5 ft of me with a cup of corn.

i never accepted unfriendly needless with my goats lol I can be kinda stubborn. I chased down my buck and held it and repeated until he became comfortable with me lol I would say atleast stand/sit near them while they eat so they can get comfortable with ur presents

I mix a very small amt. (1/2 a coffee can) of crushed corn to a 5 gal. bucket of goat feed. My goats love it and this small amt mixed in their feed doesn't give them the scours.
