Sussex chicks are ten days old, and it's time they started accessing the adult waterer...their chick waterer is constantly being filled with dirt, no matter where I place it!

What's been happening since July 28th?
7/30/25: Naomi's OEGB chicks started roosting (4 of 6)
7/31/25: Rahab's Sussex chicks started roosting! (5 of 5)
My SIL (sister-in-law) died, so I drove 700 miles for her wake (no funeral planned).
8/2/25: Ready for solo drive!
8/3/25: Delaware Water Gap (Pennsylvania)
Visited with family and friends in Connecticut, then headed home on 8/5/25...
At a garden center on the way...I resisted...
Finally got back.
Look at Naomi's OEGB chicks!!!
Rahab's Sussex were too fast for my phone camera! I'll try again tomorrow.
It's good to be home.

On the trip home I stopped in Ashland, VA, to rest for a few minutes as I was getting sleepy.
Someone here mentioned that they liked Secretariat, Triple Crown champion of 1973. I saw this nice statue of him across from the visitors' center.
It was a big statue, not to scale.
I love old towns...
And covered bridges, this one was in Pennsylvania:
Travel can be fun, but I'm glad to be home.

You did it! Going by yourself is a big deal for a trip that far. Now you know you can go anywhere, anytime and it will be ok. There’s that empty feeling of sadness and deep fear of can you really do this. Now you know you can and your next trip may be tinged with sadness but just look at your accomplishment. Nothing can stop you now.
