I scored today, yard sale, Habitat for Humanity, and Aldi's.

Yard sale...deck screws!!! Ball peen hammer! Straps! Edger! Baskets! And a little pail.

At Habitat I found a nice 4×6 heavyweight rug that will match the colors in my living room. And an oldie but goodie cooler for when I travel. The new ones are so cheap, handles break off easily.

And they had tarps at Aldi's marked down to $7! I bought three. They're stronger than the dollar store types, and I will find uses for them.

I overdid, the muscles in my legs are twitching like those of a sleeping dog. It's not the lifting, it's the :rant concrete floors in every store that aggravate my arthritic feet and joints. And it's one of the main reasons I decided to retire. I can work outside, hard, with only some discomfort, but standing on concrete wears me out, physically. I was only mildly sore after going to the Gilmanor swap and walking around for over four hours with @canesisters @Mini Horses @farmerjan and @Iron Cauldron Gardens !

Thirty three working days to go...

This week I've been weeding my garden beds, plucking out weeds that are the same size as the vegetable seedlings.

Bed #1 - I planted carrots around the milkweed after I noticed a Monarch butterfly laying eggs.

I gave all the little weeds to my chickens, yum yum!

Pulled weeds are in a pile, bottom right ⬆️

The cockerel Jacob is getting less shy. He's still respectful of the elders, but not as freaked out when I enter the coop. This afternoon as I was walking past the coop I saw him in the back far corner. I said "chick chick" which is my treat call, but not loud enough for the others to hear. I slowly stuck a weedling through the wire, and he leaned over, taking a leaf off.

Finally, look at what our gusty winds did!
