Id be so greatful to anyones help.

Thanks

I'm not sure what to do other than try to milk her, but I did want to post and tell you I am so sorry you lost the babies. I will be thinking about you and sending you some virtual hugs.

Hopefully someone with more experience will post here soon.

I'm sorry you lost all three....

I've read that sometimes the doe has a plug in each teat that takes some time to push out - I'm not sure if the reason the plug isn't coming out is because she had the kids prematurely or not.

Is your doe OK? Does she seem off? Did she pass the afterbirth OK?

Hopefully someone who's been through a situation like this will chime in.

:hugs

My doe is doing just fine acting normal. she got all the after birth out just fine and is eating like a horse.

Have you ever milked before? It is not unusually for a newbie to get nothing on the first try....or the second, or the third....

:hugs

No kidding Free, my husband makes milking look so easy, and then I grab hold and hardly a squirt.

I guess I need practice.

Ive been milking goats and cows for a long time. My husband always looks at me and says "How do you do that" i try and show him how and nothin! lol.

After alot of trying to milk it finally broke free. Glenolam was right about the plug. was happy to get her milked. was worried about it.

:weee

I'm glad to hear that it worked out!

Just like Donnabelle I'm still working on my milking skills. I have actually figured out it's easier for me to milk with my midde, ring and pinky and just hold my pointer finger up against the udder with no pressure - then I squeeze the teat closed with my thumb and middle finder and push the milk out with my ring and pinky.

I usually can't get the dang pinky out of the way and end up with milk running down my arm if I do it the way a lot of people suggest.

Maybe you should try it that way?
