I've only had my ND kids since Monday, and it's 100F degrees here today.
They are breathing heavily and seem to be soooo hot. They've been lying in the barn all day, but I was hoping I could cool them down somehow.
I like the mister idea, how about running a hose out to their pen and setting the nozzle on the mist setting, or filling a kiddie pool with cool water?

I'm just so worried about them, they are only 9-1/2 weeks old...combined with leaving their mother and coming to a strange new place, will this much heat stress them out?

This worried new mother needs help! ;)

It is supposed to be 110 today. The adults are handling the temps okay as long as I refresh their water every 4 hours and they have lots of shade. I have a set of twins that are 4 days old now and one of them was panting yesterday even though they have plenty of shade, so I will watch them carefully today and if it gets too much for them, they will go into the barn and the fans started up to help keep them cool until this stuff passes. Really young kids can't seem to handle the high heat like the adults can.
