Hi there! New to this site/forum. I am a part of backyard chickens, as they were my gateway animal several years ago, lol. Now, in a few weeks, I will be the proud momma if four Nubian kids!!
I am so excited for my next adventure and these babies. I love being a part of a site like this because of the information and support that can be provided.
Hoping to learn and eventually maybe help someone else!
Any advice for a new goat owner? ^_^

Welcome from the Great Lone Star State! Glad you found us, ticked pink to have you posting!

Advise? Love your animals. Spend time with them. Put your eyes and hands on them, all over them, every time you see them. Your hands can become their voice when they are starting to not feel well. Your hands will know when one of them is losing weight or gaining weight.

Enjoy your animals. They will know when you are happy and when you are rushed or not in a good mood. Your goaties should be fun. Work too, but try to always keep the element of fun with your babies. The sight of your babies running to you when they see you should make your day.

Pictures! We live on pictures as you probably have discovered. Looking forward to seeing your babies when they get home.

Welcome from Florida :frow love this site, you will find so much information and help when you need it.
If you could add your general location it helps folks answer questions when they can understand your climate and such....so happy you are getting your kids....:weee:weee:weee:yesss:you can never have too many goats, lol

There are quite a few members that have goats, lots of info in the goat section of the forum.

Putting your location in your profile can sometimes help when you have questions since the geographical area can influence answers.

Lol...my husband already thinks I'm crazy! He talked me into chickens, which I was unsure about. Began with 4...now I LOVE my chickens and we have 22 ^_^
I cannot wait until our goats are old enough to begin having babies! I'm so stoked.
The only thing better would be to have horses, which we will eventually. I grew up with horses :)
